Princess Etiquette

I had my girl wear her Cinderella dress for a good part of the day... my Mom made it and it was gorgeous and very comfortable, but I brought her some very comfy shoes... she was fine all morning. But I did bring a change of clothes for the hotter afternoon and we had a blast... Now I'm bringing some cotton princesses dress and 2 piece suits, very nice but not uncomfortable like the princesses costumes.

In March, dd4 wore her princess dresses all day...in June..she changed after awhile..it was too hot! As for wearing it to AP..AP is at Wilderness Lodge, a family place...in the middle of Disney. I am sure that the CM's would welcome the little royal guest, especially if it means she'll have extra special royal behavior. That's what I would tell my dd at any rate (and she can be stubborn!).

It is OK for a little girl to be dressed as a princess anywhere and anytime at WDW. If you want to keep the special dress "special" then allow her to wear it at the princess meals and perhaps on her special BB Boutique day. My DD never wanted to wear her dress every day.

there's anyplace in Disney that's too snooty for princesses in dresses! princess:

When we went last year my DD3 brought her Cinderella dress (with all accessories) and wore it a lot-- the one adjustment we did make was that I had some special shoes to sub in for those miserable and ill-fitting (on her) princess "jellie" slippers.
We got white canvas mary janes from WalMart that fit her well, and she broke them in. Then, the weekend before the trip I washed them with bleach to get them perfectly white and we dressed them up with some beads, ribbons, and other trim from the craft store. (BTW-- take extra glue in case the bedazzled item needs repair while at WDW!) She wore these shoes a LOT-- and Cinderella even signed them at Park Fare!

One last tip re: the princess dresses-- I noticed that my nieces were much less comfortable in theirs than my DD was. Difference was that my DD's was one size up and theirs fit like a glove. Which is nice and all, but... made them itchier! I just took pinking shears and some fray check and trimmed the skirt on DD's so it wasn't too long.
