I'm looking for some princess costumes that my twins (will be 4.5 when we go) and wear for character dining. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. Any suggestions? They would probably need a child size SMALL. I would like to keep it under $30/each. I looked on Etsy for some custom sewn ones and WOW, those are crazy expensive!

Any ideas?

There's a lady that is mentioned on the BBB thread very frequently. Her name is Mrs. B and if you go over there and ask somebody can give you her ebay information. I think most people said her princesses dresses are the same as the park ones but for like 30 dollars.

Try looking at Target. They sell princess costumes in the dress up isle in the toy section. They are not the high quality ones like they sell at the parks for $65, but they are still cute and I think they are around $20-$30. Good luck and have a GREAT trip!!:thumbsup2

What is BBB, I am still getting used to all the acronymns over here.

Try walmart.com. They had princess dress up value packs for $14.99 that included a tiara, shoes, and a nice dress. They only have Snow White left, but it is really cute. My daughter has this set. Everything that touches their skin is satin and they have sewn cotton over the seam where the tulle comes in so it isn't scratchy at the waist. There is a shipping charge on these, but they send them right to your door. It comes in well below the $30 mark per child. Here is a link to the Snow White dress up value pack.

Two Snow White outfits would cost you $36.46 plus local tax and they will ship it to your house. I would not let a child wear the shoes to the park because they are hard plastic and not designed for lots of walking (although you could put them on just for the meal), but the dress and tiara should be fine for longer than that if they'd like to wear them in the park too. The white ruffle around the neck is removable if they don't like that part.

They also have a Tinkerbell pack for $25 if you want a different outfit for each child. I can't tell you anything about this set, I don't have it.

BBB is bibbity boppity boutique. Right now on the disney store website, the costumes are one sale for 29.00
not a bad deal since they are normally 44.00
Hope that helps
Mary

Thanks for the links...I'm just wondering if those will be too small. My girls are pretty tall. We have costumes now (that just velcro in the back) that are the 4-6x size and they are getting to small to wear anything under it (like a tee or whatever). We actually have the snow white shoes, but yeah, I would never let them wear those around the park...ouch! I LOVE the Tink costume!

I've seen some cute costumes here: www.mydressuptrunk.com. They have Belle and Cinderella. Both are $26.99 each -- which is top of your budget I know. There are some other great suggestions here!

You can always try e-bay you can get some great deals on there. Also I went to Burlington Coat Factory and got my daughter a gorgeous gown type with matching doll gown. It was black velvet top with long ivory tulle with little pearl beads inbetween and which had a nice pouf to it. I got it for $16.99 it was gorgeous. Im going to give it to my daughter for her b-day because she loves to do dress ups. Im thinking this could also be worn for a character meal also even though its not the same gowns as the usual princesses, but she will definitely look like a princess in it. There is usually a clearance section for items which were out during the holidays or certain times and came across some beautiful things for the price i got. i couldnt beat the quality for the price plus a matching doll outfit to top it off.
