I think we're going to do it and stay at Saratoga Springs. I actually looked back at your old TR yesterday to see your pics of that resort

The reason we wouldn't get the dining plan is that to get it we'd have to buy park tickets. Since tickets get cheaper the more days you purchase it makes sense to buy them for our arrival at BW and not wait until "the other one". We wouldn't change our adrs, except maybe a before the park opens adr since Dale doesn't like getting up as early as that requires for the bus. So we'd be eating at the same places and doing the same things just at a deluxe vs Pop with an extra expense of $100-200.
I didn't even think about the tickets
I didn't even think about the tickets I say go for it , if you don't have to change your eating plans and only have to pay $100 to $200 extra , it's well worth it !!

So we finally made our decision
We will be staying at
DISNEY"S SARATOGA SPRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We love the set up of the hotel and all of the decor and colors! It is also in a great location being within walking distance of both Typhoon Lagoon and DTD! This will make getting to my surf lesson easier since buses don't run at 5:45 am!

Congrats!
We've never been over there but we know several DVC members that love it!
You'll have a great time!

Thanks for all the tips Mary Ellen! The Disney website listed SS within walking distance of TL? I figured that would be something we'd need to look into when we got there though. If it's too far we'll get a cab over for the surf lesson.Well you know I am a big fan of SSR cause its my home resort. I think you will really like it. It's a big resort, but its really pretty and once you figure out the lay-out it will not seem overwhelming. If you can request go with Congress Park or the new area (name escapes me).
I really don't think you can walk to TL, though. DTD yes, plus you can bus it or take the boat. By TL - its too far to walk. You'll need a cab for that.
Do you have AP's now? I would think you would since you've gone a lot during the past year. Buy the TIW card for your OOP meals. It will pay for itself rather quickly and it lasts a good 15 months! It's also good on alcohol.
The other thing to consider is taking the DVC tour. You can score some free FP's if you take the tour and they will drive you were you want to go after the tour. It's fun to see the model rooms. Very excited for you guys. Much better choice than POP. Not that there is anything wrong with POP but for $200 its a no brainer.

I just caught up and holy buckets, yes! Deluxe seems to be the way to go!
I'm going to love reading your TR!!!
I want a PIN!
, is a REALLY good one with 40%off any room from August 29-Dec.18 (with some black out dates)

We were in the grandstand buildings and it was great for buses and one of the quiet pools...a little trek to the front and boat launch....but a beautiful walk

and left me feeling rather frustrated. It is all switched around though and I'm REALLY hoping it's worth the trouble we went through yesterday!

Thanks Jordan! We've driven my husband crazy with all the changes we've made to this vacation

studio or one bedroom?
changes are fun though
 , just a studio.
, just a studio. He's not the compulsive planners we are and he'd like us to book things and leave them. We've changed hotels several times (CSR to BW and Pop and now BW and SS) and I couldn't begin to guess how many times we've changed adrs. He just doesn't get it but at least he humors us for the most part

Since there are just 3 of us,and I'm trying to stay as close to what we budgeted as possible, just a studio.
