Princess Caitlin pre trip August '10 costarring dawnbu40

Whatever you do...just don't my Mom you're leaving us and going to Biergarten...she might abandon us!! :lmao: Tusker House always sounds yummy..I didn't dare make breakfast ADRs..I'd have to get Piper rolling waaaaay too early! Also wouldn't make sense since we have a good b'fast at the village anyway. Thank you for the kind words, we feel the same way about the meet and about you guys!

:lmao: yeah I think my grandma is most excited about our Biergareten ADR

Yeah our ADR is around 8:00 but at my house everyone is usually up by 6 so we are used to it we never sleep in even on vacation :lmao: I also sometimes feel silly waiting in long lines for characters so having a character breakfast is a nice way to meet them minus the line

Thank you

Yay for single digits!! :cool1::yay:

Caitlin - hope your toe is feeling better. Especially with the trip getting so close! :yay:

Can't wait to hear how Tusker House is. We were actually talking about possibly changing one of our ADRs or adding in an extra character breakfast for our little girl, and Tusker House looked good.

Thanks! I actually have to tweak them a bit. We just found out Caitlin has to be there BY 6:15 for the race  She will be one tired young lady!
I am excited about the suprise and hope they like it :)

Wow , sounds like Caitlin will be very tired , 6:15 comes very early especially when your on vacation ! lol

Congrats on the single digit dance :cool1::woohoo::yay::banana::dance3:

Sorry to hear about your poor toe Caitlin :( I'm sure it will be healed in no time & you'll be ready to go the day of the race !

The plans for the 7th sounds great the Tusker House breakfast is so yummy and it sounds like you have a truly special dismeet planned , I'm sure it will be one of the magical moments of your trip :)

Thank you all for asking about my toe!

It is doing better the bruising has gone down a lot and it isn't bothering me nearly as much

I just have a hard time pushing the gas and break when I am driving but I becoming adjusted to it so it really isn't that troublesome

I'm always up for celebrating a single digit dance.

We won't be able to do one for ourselves for another 120 days, so I'm good with dancing for others until our turn comes. :goodvibes

I've been fortunate enough to go during Flower & Garden Festival time the past three years, but this is a lean year money-wise, so it's a no go. I was reading about the Princess and the Frog topiaries between MouseGear and Test Track. Will you get some good pictures of those for us?

Hope Caitlin is up and walking well by trip time.

Hi MeMom! So nice of you to join us! Caitlin is a big fan of your TRs and your adorable granddaughters!:goodvibes I think Epcot is at it's prettiest during F&G Fest so we will take lots of pics for you!

I can't wait to find out what it is!!! I'd love to guess, but I'm afraid it would spoil the fun!

Oh no! How is she feeling now?

Sshh! Don't tell them :rotfl: I'm afraid of spoiling the suprise myself! I'm terrible at keeping secrets :rotfl2:

Yay for single digits!! :cool1::yay:

Caitlin reads a lot of dining reports and has never heard anything bad about TH so hopefully we'll really enjoy it! Taking the little ones to the breakfasts is always fun! Another good breakfast is Cape May's if you've never been :)

Congrats on the single digit dance :cool1::woohoo::yay::banana::dance3:

Only 11 more days :yay: Yep that's the good news of the day! The bad, well we think Caitlin has broken her middle toe :sad2: She was letting the dogs out yesterday and turned around and walked into the wall. :confused3 At the time it hurt and she fell to the ground but she lay there laughing so I didn't think too much of it. However, she went to the gym last night and when she came home her toe was purple, swollen and she was in a good deal of pain :headache: I looked up broken toes online and the consensus is she doesn't need to see a doctor (ours is closed til Monday anyway) and that she should keep it elevated and taped. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
We do realize this is not that big of a deal and won't stop us from enjoying our trip (may interfere with 5k plans though) but it's one of those little annoyances you don't really want at vacation time, you know?

Yay for almost there!

and boohiss for broken toes. I had a broken toe once, thankfully, the only broken bone I ever had. All the doc did was tape it together.

hope you feel MUCH better!

But who has time to complain about snow when there is dancing to be done?
That's right kids it's time for THE SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!! :cool1::banana::dance3::dancer:party::donald: :dumbo: :tigger::sulley::mickeyjum

:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

:welcome:

Thank you for single digit dancing with us :)

Your time will fly by I still can't believe that I am already single digit dancing!

I will definitely write a note to myself to get good pictures of the Princess and the Frog topiaries for you :thumbsup2

Thanks my toe is doing better it just hurts when I drive and have to push down on the gas but I am sure I will be over the pain by the time we get to WDW :)

I cannot wait to see the Princess & the Frog topiaries!!!

I'm glad your toe is doing better!

All caught up!!!! :goodvibes

Hi Michele! Glad you're caught back up! I'm sure you've been busy with just having a birthday (hope it was great) and a trip next week  We called the doc and they said there was no need to come in. We've been keeping them taped which is about all that can be done.Thankfully this is the only broken bone either of us has ever had :goodvibes

Tusker House breakfast is one of our favs! You will love it!!
It's a great combination of your standard plus some African additions to get a splash of something different.
Also don't forget the tater tots and Jambo Juice!
I think those last two made it a fav for the kids.
Not to mention Mickey & friends in safari gear!!

Biergarten is another one of our favs.
DD5 gets me up to dance every time we're there and we have a blast each time.
For the adults, we splurged for the wine flight last time and it was awesome!!
Definitely a nice little adult treat!!
A little tip - try to get in right in time for a show so that you can catch that one, eat, and then enjoy a second show before you leave.
Since they alternate the instruments and songs in each show, you get to see alot more!!

Thanks for the tips! I think the Biergarten is the adr my mom is most looking forward to! :)

Single digits!!! I had a momentary lapse in memory and forgot you guys are going SOON!!!! All this talk of the FandG fest is getting me excited.

I'm a dunce...What is a wine flight? Anyone? Dh and I both avoid beer, (I know, I know) but I am trying to educate myself a little more on wine. I do love the sweet German wines, like Riesling. Yum.

I'm not a drinker at all but "a flight" is usually like a sampler platter of 3 or 4 different wines or beer.

Well they have beer flights there too (Think "Beer Garden" ;) )
However, we're more wine people.
Either way, a flight is several glasses that are similar.
We had the Riesling wine flight. $14 for 3 glasses of wine that went from good to really good!
Here's a pic from my upcoming trip report:

I cannot wait to see the Princess & the Frog topiaries!!!

Not to burst your bubble, but I hear the Princess & Frog section is mostly cardboard cut-outs and scenery...
I believe the only new topiaries this year are Terrence and the expanded Pixie Hollow.

How's the toe doing Caitlin?
You all rehabbed and ready to go?
If it makes you feel any better, CapellsMom broke hers the night before our first family trip and she made it through! :goodvibes

Oh Caitlin! I am so sorry to hear about your toe! Which one was it??? :sad1:

I broke my pinky toe really badly on the afternoon before we left for our last Disney trip! Had it X-rayed and the doc said I "did a number on it!"

I followed all the docs prescriptions exactly- iced it as much as I could, kept it elevated. Took Alleve every 12 hours for a week.

Oh- and I put extra soft cushioned insoles in my shoes.

Even with all that, I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt! I cringe to think about you running a race on your broken toe!

Good Luck!!!

It's the middle toe and it actually doesn't hurt too bad now

I have adjusted to not stepping down on it and I worked out tonight and was able to run on it I just have to run more on the balls of my feet

I have been taking aleve and it's been working very well

I just have to adjust to it it definitely isn't as bad as it was but it isn't a hundred percent yet I am glad the bruising has gone down some

Sorry to hear about your toe but thank you for the tips!
