Princess Caitlin pre trip August '10 costarring dawnbu40

Yikes on the flight time!!! I know early is good, as it means more time in the parks, but WOW! Weird that a Segway class would not involve riding one...who would bother???

I remember him asking her how old she was. When she replied "12" he told her she was "dangerously close to growing up". My mom was with us that trip and we both teared up at his statement :sad1:

So sweet! That tour sounds fun!

;)Lunch in the food court!!! Yay this is when I will finally be getting some Tye Dyed Cheesecake :woohoo: I am also really looking forward to eating here since I have heard so many good things about Pop's food court.

You're gonna love the cheesecake!!! Actually, everything we ate at Pop was fantastic. I also just read today on the Disney Food Blog that they have twinkie tiramasu...I don't remember seeing it in December, though. You'll have to look for it!

Great first day plan. I had to laugh with your comment after Carousel Of Progress....Jasmine feels the same way as you do. I make her ride it then I sing it to her for the rest of the day:lmao:

I don't like the Carousel of Progress because they really need to change the futuristic scene :lmao: most of the stuff they talk about in it we already have and I am pretty sure we don't dress like that

Also I am not a fan of music that gets stuck in your head (example: IASW) so listening to a "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" is a little bit like torture :lmao:

My mom loves to sing along and I do as well but those catchy Disney songs :sad2:

Boooo for the Segway and AAA complications..and hooraaaay! for the MK on your first day! LOL @ your castle, Caitlin..Ms Piper might fight you on that one.. :lmao: I haven't decided if I'm going to subject Piper to the Carousel of Progress yet, will prob depend on how we're doing for time. Maybe we'll see you at Wishes :)

I would be happy to share the Castle with Piper

Carousel of Progress is something you have to do at least once and it's really not that horrible just very outdated.

That would be cool we will have to keep an eye out :wizard:

Yikes on the flight time!!! I know early is good, as it means more time in the parks, but WOW! Weird that a Segway class would not involve riding one...who would bother???

I know I can't believe how early I will have to wake up :sad2:

The CM said it did involve riding on one just in a closed environment. I am not too upset about the Segway tour because I plan on breaking off on my own on our second Epcot day and doing all of the Kim Possible missions :thumbsup2

Great plans so far Dawn. I don't believe that you can't get an AAA discount on tours. When did that change? Silly, very silly.

As far as the Segway tour, Caitlin may change her mind and could always book later. What about the tour at Fort wilderness? That sounds pretty cool. There is also a tour in Celebration. It's very reasonably priced. Wish I could remember the name of the website, but it looked pretty cool and got some good reviews. It's a lot cheaper than any of the Disney tours and I really want to do it one of these days. I'll have to goggle it and see if I can find the site.

I don't know when it changed but that's what the CM told Caitlin :confused3

The Segway tours at Fort Wilderness and the WS one look really cool I was just hoping for a bargain ;)

Oh man twinkie tiramisu!? I am going to have a tough decision when it comes to dessert on our first day!

I am not used to doing this so I hope it comes out. I wanted to say hi to the people who made comments about me. I am very proud to be the grandma of a princess and hi everyone.

Good morning everyone. I thought I should give a little Disney background info.
I saw my first movies over 60 years ago and they were Cinderella and Dumbo.
When Disneyland opened I promised myself someday I would go there. When Dawn was a teenager I was able to fulfill that promise. Meantime we made our first trip to Disney World when Dawn was about 5. I believe this will be my 8th time going there. This will be the fourth time with Princess Caitlin. So the three generations of Disney girls love for Disney has been going on for a long time.

Hi Gram! So nice to see you here! It will be fun to hear all three perspectives as you guys plan. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear that the Segway class didn't work out :( I think sometimes to get what you want it requires reaching the right CM on the phone , I know I've called several times about one specific thing and got several different answers  !

On a good note though your first day plans sound perfect , even though Catlin will have to ride the Carousel Of Progress :rotfl2: I didn't really appreciate the ride until I had kids of my own so I can relate to Catlin's feelings . Also can't wait to hear what you think of your cheesecake Catlin , are you going to be doing a dining report for this trip ?

Hello to Princess Catlin's Gram , sounds like you love WDW just as much as Catlin & Dawn , can't wait to hear your input on the trip plans :)

YAY for your trip! :woohoo:

I was sorta waffling on going for March 5th, since I want to make most of my D23 membership. But...I dunno, it doesn't sound so hot? And after ticketing for the Magic & Merriment event. Oh boy. I'm hoping for the best. Maybe.

I think it will be going on sale on/slight after Jan 26th. I think.

Re: 4.0
Congrats!!!!

Your GPA means everything for that first job out of school. After that, it's just a distant memory. :rotfl2:

Re: Segways
I'll be talking about in the TR soon (or soon-ish ;)); I took both the 'Around the World' and 'Nature by Design', which I think is still not really publicized much. They were great! And totally worth the money.

I have not done the Simply Segway, but I think you can just show up if you want. I didn't even realize that it had to be booked. Trust me, 30 minutes is not even time.

Re: AAA
Yes, they changed it recently. Very frustrating; I don't understand why they are now tying it into with a AAA agent trip. I find they don't know half that I do. :rotfl: I don't see the point of booking with them.

I have a Disney visa card now (yea, I finally just broke down and got it), I wonder if they have discounts for those? :scratchin

So, hooray again for March & September trips!!!!! Looking fwd to reading up about it. popcorn::

I will be doing a dining report but it will be inside the trip report since we will also have the PTR going. I love taking pictures of food so I definitely will be doing that this trip :thumbsup2

We are really hoping to get tickets to the D23 event!

Thank you! I can't wait for all the hard work and boring classes to be a disant memory ;)

I do want to do a segway tour eventually but I can never find time to do one!:confused3

Thank you for joining!

I am doing something special instead of the segway tour I will be participating in the Royal Family 5k that will be going on while we are there :thumbsup2 I am really looking forward to it! All of the proceeds go to the Leukemia Foundation

Good morning!!! Before I started on the plans I wanted to let everyone know that my D23 stuff came!!! Also for those of you that read my parents' solo trip Tr you know that I got into a car accident with a deer in the fall. (We wanted to wait until after the holidays to get it fixed and since I commute to EMU I couldn't afford to be without my car) Well I just found out that I don't have to pay my deductible :cool1: which is awesome because now I get more Disney spending money :lovestruc which led to me ordering 22 pins for pin trading on Ebay last night. I will post a picture of the D23 stuff and the pins after the pins arrive.
Day 2 plans

We will be having breakfast at POP

Heading to Epcot at 9 am

I will be doing the Soarin' fast pass run!

Then on to Test Track :thumbsup2
( which may or may not be my grandma's first time on it)

We will then do Ellen's Universe of Energy or whatever it is called :confused3
( I honestly love this ride and I don't see why so many people find it boring)

Next Nemo

Use the fastpasses for Soarin'
( I really want to get my mom on this ride eventually)

My personal favorite Journey into Imagination
(I have always loved this ride :cutie:)

Once World Showcase opens we will start in Mexico
(I love me some Three Caballeros!!!)

Then make our way around the World to France where we will be eating at Les Chefs de France
( I am so excited to eat here! I have seen so many yummy pictures on the Dis! We also made our reservation at a time where we could meet the Chef ;) )

We will then watch the French movie

Then head on over to Canada to watch Off Kilter

Back track to the UK and watch British invasion and then the World Showcase Players

after our shows we will go back to the resort and rest up

then Back to Epcot for Spaceship Earth and Illuminations
( I really want to find a good spot for Illuminations if anyone has any suggestions?)

End of Day 2!

I love Epcot and can't wait to go back!

Sounds like a great plan.
No Maelstrom or Mission: Space?

Japan is a great place to watch Innoventions but the globe is a bit far away.
A better view of that is at the Future World side of the lagoon between the two boat docks. I did that last time and you get a great view!
But that spot fills up first.

Or, by then, the new Cantina de San Angel may be open.
That could be an intriguing view - especially if they have a 2nd floor which has been rumored...

We will most likely ride the Maelstrom but we usually rush through the World Showcase so we are trying to split it up into two days so we don't miss anything.

I like Mission Space but I hate waiting alone for rides and I feel sad riding without my dad on certain rides.

Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

We watched it from the Mexico counter service tables last time but unless you are right up at the fence it's hard to see

True but I think a 2nd Floor Option at Mexico may be awesome if the rumors hold.

Also, you can always be a wimp like me and ride Mission: Space Green Team.
Mom should be able to handle that one - it's no worse than Star Tours.
I took DD7 last year and he's just as wimpy as I am...

As for 2 days in Epcot - it's definitely worth it.
We usually take our time through the countries (and Kim Possible helps that now) on one day (after Soarin and Mission:Space in the morning).
The other day is devoted to Future World (with meals in Coral Reef or the closer countries like Le Cellier, San Angel Inn, or Biergarten).
The way I figure it, the more time in Epcot, the more time to enjoy those great restaurants!! :woohoo:
