Sorry if it's off topice...just read some nice news this morning....that I wanted to share with you!!....

Congratulations to them both!!

here's hoping to a day off to watch it on telly:goodvibes

Oh I love a Royal wedding. Just remembering being on holiday in Blackpool when Charles and Diana got married. The best street party I have ever been to. When the date is announced that will be my day organised in front of tv :goodvibes

I love a Royal Wedding too ::yes:: It would be great if it's a day off for everyone too :)

Great news, but I'm not so sure I'd want Princess Di's ring.

I suppose it's a lovely gesture when it means so much to William - but the tragedy and unhappiness of Diana's life are hard to disassociate with that piece of jewellery.

my thoughts exactly

Great news, really happy for them, wonder if I will get an invite:lmao: Hoping as well that we may get a day off if its a week day to watch it:goodvibes

I love everything royalty so I'm thrilled that there's going to be royal wedding:) congrats to the happy couple.

I think I'd have had the ring reset at least, so you have the same stones but not the unhappy history.

But maybe boys don't think about that (and I thought the sentiment behind it was so sweet! She would be so proud of him!)

The date : Friday 29th April (the feast of St Catherine ;) )
The Venue : Westminster Abbey.

The Royal Family and the Middleton's will pay from private money ::yes::
It *will* be a bank holiday :cool1:

It's going to be classed as "semi - state" occasion :confused3

We return from three weeks in Florida on Monday 25th (Easter Monday) and then we have another BH at the end of the week - suits me :) as I will miss the build-up but not the event :)

Where will you be?

Sitting at home waving my flag of course:rolleyes1 I'm so glad its a BH - makes a nice long weekend with the Mayday - as I pass Westminster abbey on the way to work and it would be terrible trying to get past!:rolleyes1

Yeah an extra day off.

The Bookies got it totally wrong then, they said August.

Where will you be?

Magic Kingdom probably! :goodvibes
I am pleased that they have made it a Bank Holiday - means that the kids are our of school for one day less now! :)

Great news that they've made it a Bank Holiday. It will be a 3 day week then which should please everyone! :cool1: Even better news that they are paying for it! :thumbsup2

I will be watching it from wherever I am in the world....more than likely at home on my sofa as I don't have any holiday plans for April.

Not everyone gets Bank Holidays off;) & we only get flat rate pay for Bank holidays. Having said that if i'm still on my old rota I will be off:thumbsup2

Yeah to be honest if we weren't away I would be pretty peeved at having another Bank Holiday around an already BH heavy month. It means that we either close our shop and get no trade at all or open and have reduced trade, whilst incurring costs from electricity etc, Sometimes I don't think the goverment thinks of small businesses at all, because we are away anyway we will close for the extra day and that means that we won't pay our staff for that day either. My friend says I'm being miserable about the Royal Wedding but I just don't get it! :rotfl:

Well Im thrilled, not only do I love a good royal wedding, I also planned to have that week off so now I only have to book three days and not four:goodvibes

I know, believe me I have worked more than my fair share of Bank Holidays in the past.

Most either get a day off in lieu or extra pay though, so I am sure most people will be happy about it one way or another.
