Prince Adam - who knew?

As a child of the 80's, Prince Adam is He-Man's secret identity.

I don't get why this is important to people. If Disney is saying his name is Adam now then why does it mater if he didn't have one before?

The thing is, the only place that it's mentioned in is at PO and in a computer game. Last year, Glen Keane (Beast/Prince's lead animator) and the producers of BATB were asked officially, on record, if Beast has a name and they all said, officially, NOPE. Adam is a purely fan made name.

Again The company has now decide his name is Adam it doesn't matter what the producers of the movie say any more.

It sort of does. It was mentioned somewhere permission had to be obtained from, I believe, the producers to use the name. Also, Glen and the producers would probably know a little more about the topic than you do.

Obviously someone somewhere in the Disney company has decided to go with Adam though because it's on the bottom of their recent BATB Vinylmation chasers!

I knew that his name was Adam along time ago before the Internet fan base was around. I am not sure if it was from the D show trivia game or if it was on the credits of the movie. I have the original VHS but we are driving home from Disney now and I will check when I get home.

I've heard that Disney is removing the name Adam from merchandise, because it was a marketing error. The name Adam does not appear anywhere in the script or in the credits.

They actually took the Adam down from the POR rooms. The Beast's name is not Adam and here is an educational video for you about it!

It was a fan created name and there is no basis for it. And there are plenty of the Princes that do not have a name!
