Prime 1 Outlets...

How's the Prime 1 (formerly Beltz) Factory Mall? Thinking of doing this one afternoon. Mostly interested in WDW Character stores with discounts . We have LOTS of souvies to shop for! Anyone's experience here would be appreciated! Also, is it near DTD...thinking of taking a cab from DTD.

Pretty much just like any other outlet malls. I never seen to find them to be much of an "outlet." They always seem pretty much regular store prices to me.

We went with the sole purpose of getting discounted souvenirs when we were there in July, and ended up going to DTD. The items in the outlet are overstocks, last season, etc, and we found there wasn't a whole lot of variety for us to choose from size-wise. We just sucked it up and bought retail at DTD.

Honestly, unless you're "in" to going to the outlets, or aren't really particular about the souvenirs, I would just stay at Downtown Disney. The stores have a much better, current selection, and even though we paid a bit more, I feel it was worth it...I just didn't care for the selection at the outlet.

As for distance, it's on I-drive, it was just down the street from our resort, so I'll just guesstimate that it'll take around 15 min from DTD; I'm just going off what it normally took us to drive from our resort to DTD.

Premium Outlet Mall just across from Downtown Disney has a better discount Disney store and they have other great shops too! We live here and never go even close to the World or Downtown Disney that we don't stop there and get some GREAT finds! We however haven't been to the former "belz" outlet in years.

This is the one closer to that other theme park, and we have found some great prices on souvies. We go every trip. Many items at half price. I got some Christmas shopping done in June. It is really nice since it was re-built.

The Character Premiere at the Premium Outlest (close to DTD) sometimes has some good stuff. It is hard to get to right now, since they are adding onto the backside of the property.

Both of these are well worth a visit, IMHO

There is another one about 2 miles from the ones at DTD, but it was really just junk.

If you had a car, I would say it is worth it, but since you would be paying for a cab, it will run you way too much money in cab fare. I do think there is a local bus that you can get at DTD and with maybe 2 transfers that will bring you to that outlet. It is at the very end of International Drive. I am guestimating that a cab could run you somewhere in the $30+ range each way. If they run by meter and time.. if you get stuck in traffic forget it.. you are doomed. Agree that the Premium Outlet is closer to WDW, if you do not have a car. And even if you do, Prime is at the far end of I-Drive (which I just cannot stand because of all the traffic). So if you are looking for something in particular, check out the store directories. FWIW.

Last December my family and I went to the Prime 1 Outlets and while at that Disney Character Whearhouse I was able to purchase a lot of pins for myself and we also got some other items such as shirts and etc. However next week when we are there they might not have anything we like because their items always change, so it can be a hit or a miss. You can also say the exact same thing about the location at the Premium Outlet Mall.

It is hit or miss. If you can hit I think it is great. We were there 2 days ago and got some good buys but we have also had some bust trips.

I went to both outlets today. Both had mostly the same merchandise.
