Hi guys,
Im just wondering if any of the primary school teachers on here can point me in the right direction to find a good website explaining telling the time to a child.

The school have said that this weeks learning objective is for Cam to be able to tell the time both analogue and digital but im struggling to find anything that explains telling the time clearly enough for him to understand.

Thanks guys,
Louise x

Both these sites offer worksheets for both analogue and digital time. You may want to invest in a "Judy" Clock - that's what we call them. Hands on helps!

Time, especially analogue, is a very difficult concept for students. I teach 4th grade in MA. The hardest concept is elapsed time. You really need to try to relate it something of importance for them. It takes lots and lots of practice :)

Good Luck

wow Thank you :worship:
I have printed loads of bits and pieces off ro him and i like the idea of getting a clock so he can have a visual aid !!
Thanks so much !!

Glad I saw this. I am going to make use of these for my 8 year old. She can tell the time in a basic sense (o clock quarter past, half past .... ) but doesn't really have a full grasp on it. It is one area she has had no interest and when I tried to spend some evenings helping her at the beginning of the year she just could not understand why she needed to do it. I am a bit of a clock watcher so she fairly accused me of constantly telling her things like "Have you seen the time? I have to leave for work in 5 minutes and it's 8.25 ...." :rotfl2:
