What did I do wrong? My package was returned to me

I sent it the same way I did the last one I sent to you. They made me fill out a customs form because it was heavier but I just said it was scrapbooking supplies and listed a value under $15.

My package had been opened and re-taped. Was there a problem with the value? Did I list it too low?

No idea! I've had swaps sent higher and lower. Hang on though, if it had the album from the 29 Feb shop in it maybe they thought it was too heavy for the value. Is your local PO helpful? Would they guide you through? You might just have got unlucky with a "jobsworth" at customs. But I've had loads of stuff in mixed boxes that just say scrapbook supplies.

You could try listing items separately with a value for each (flowers $10, album $10) or something.

Has anyone else ever had this happen?

I've been pretty lucky with all the things I send overseas. Sometimes they take forever to get there, but they have all made it.

No, my P.O. is not helpful at all which is why I always have so many mailing problems. We have the main P.O. here and they are obnoxious.

I'll try taking it to a different P.O. near work and see if they can help me. Just to reiterate - DON'T list it as a gift and list the value separately for each item. Is that right?

When we lived overseas, we were told not to ship stuffed animals (toys) and label them as that on the customs slip. It could be misunderstood as real animals that have been stuffed (taxidermy). So for your flowers, if you label them as such, they might be considered "live" and not go through. Perhaps say paper flowers or something. Could the customs agent have thought that they were real, and therefore an agricultural product?

I just wrote flowers and book. I don't understand why they couldn't tell that they were paper flowers. It was obvious that they had opened the package and looked inside because it was all taped up.

The primas came today and I love the 29 Feb prize I might let DS(14) have it for his Disney pics as he gets sort of left out of the scrapfest with me and Kicky grabbing everything in sight And thanks for the DD

I'll maybe put groups into one baggie each - depends how good I am at packing it all down - unless anyone specially wants things kept separate.

DIT I'll include your SWSI prize, TPCS I'll put in Michelle's baby pages, AWM I've set aside jets for you......have I forgotten any special requests? Life is a bit hectic at present! I didn't promise any of you Cherry Bakewell recipes did I? I think it was BAMB but I lost my annotated address list Roll on the rolodex swap!

That is ridiculously fast I posted a cheque to Cambridge first class on Friday afternoon and it only got there today! And I posted Queenies at the same time - so where 's the logic? Hopefully they'll all land fairly quickly!

And glad the jets are appreciated - I had a similar reaction when I showed Kicky - flowers are for girl pages but you can use these on mine.
