Price listed is per person.

1 Day Park to Park ticket with Unlimited EP - $239.99

or

1 Night at Royal Pacific with 1 day Park to Park ticket and EP, plus early park admission - $266.81

So for $26.82 we get the early park admission.

We are staying offsite but might use the hotel room for a midday rest or swim since its basically the same price as buying just the tickets. Hotel check in time is later than when the park opens so how does that work if you want to utilize the early park hour but can't check in on that day until 4pm?

What if you want to park in regular parking? Will you still be charged the $20 a day resort parking fee if you don't park at the resort?

You can check in as early as 6am on check in day. Your room may not be ready but any bags can be left with bell services.
You will be issued with a room key that you take to ticket booth in lobby and get your EP printed. Then you are good to go.
You wont pay parking charges if you dont park a car in hotel car park.
You mention regular parking......You cannot leave a car overnight in Universal parking garage either if thats what you mean. It will be towed away.

Thank you for the info. We wouldnt be leaving our car overnight anywhere because we are renting an off site condo so we will be going back there instead of sleeping in the room. I suppose we would need to park at the hotel though so we can check in and get to the park for the hour early opening for on site guests. I was thinking we'd just park in the regular lot for offsite guests if it was a closer walk but since we have to go to the hotel anyway for check in, we'd just park there. The parks open at 9am that day so the extra hour would be 8am. If we got to the hotel by 7:00 am hopefully that be enough time. Man, that means we'd need to leave our condo by about 6:40. eek. Didnt think about that.

Be sure to check the price of a room direct with Loews and also on the cheaptickets.com website. Sometimes you can find a better deal than through Loews directly, and you get the same onsite benefits :) . And also....your one room for one night gives you unlimited Express pass for TWO days (the day you check in and the day you check out). Any chance you could stretch the budget for a two day ticket to take advantage of the two days of express, if you decide to book a room? Since you're a first time visitor, you would have TONS to keep you busy for two full days at Universal.

If you don't plan to use the room, I wouldn't bother with this if the price is higher that just the tickets/EP combo. Just buy the tickets, get to the parking lot well before park opening and it's likely you'll get in earlier than the advertised opening time anyway.

Even when I've been in a crowd being let in earlier than park opening, those withOUT hotel keycards are stopped along the path. Only those holding keycards are allowed further for the early entrance.

Especially if the OP is a HP fan, $30 for early entrance to hit some HP rides could be well worth it. They'll have to pay for parking anyway, might as well do it at the hotel.

You want to make sure that the express pass price you are quoting is for the unlimited use and not the one time per ride use (sorry can't remember the technical name!).

We did the math the same way and opted to spend one night at RPR but we always intended to do the parks for 2 days so it was a no brainer for us. We got our room through Cheaptickets.com and remember even if you are taking kids for the room, only put the 2 adults or there doesn't seem to be much of a cost saving.

Not sure of your schedule, but why not check in the hotel the night before, sleep in the room ( I know you have another condo) but sleep in a bit then just go down for early entry. You'll be able to sleep about another hour or so, since your burning a room either way, burn the condo room to make it easier the next am.
