A friend will be traveling by plane for the first time and was wandering what she can expect in the area of alcohol costs on the plane, or if it is free.
Personally I don't drink when I fly, so I can't answer her question. She thanks you all for your help.

I just flew Delta last week and ordered a glass of wine; it was $5.

If I remember right, it was between $4 (beer) and $7 (hard alcohol) on my airline. I personally would never drink when I fly, but some people feel the need to do so to make their flight better.

After watching Airline on A&E, I don't think I would ever think of getting lit up at the bar and then trying to fly! :goodvibes

I think it is between $3 and $5 depending what you order. They will only sell you TWO drinks as they don't want to have to deal with someone who has had a few too many. (I have to agree with them on that.)

American is $5 for either beer or wine. I've never seen them cut anyone off, but I've never seen anyone really drunk either, so maybe they are more subtle than I think.

They j ust quietly tell the person that they will only sell them a max of 2 if they request more. Most normal people don't order more then that anyway.

I've never had more than one in coach, but in First Class I've had them keep my glass full for hours.

I used to pay $4, I think many carriers ahve recently gone to $5--probably to make more money and not have to deal with change.

Tell her to bring her own little bottles of booze and they will keep the sodas coming.

They do not allow you to bring your own alcohol if you bring it on the plane. I didn't know that and once brought a hard lemonade with me. I had downed it already when the FA noticed the bottle and told me that it's a big no-no.
