We are planning a trip to Disney the first week of December. We have already booked our airline tickets and now I am working on booking the hotel and Disney tickets. Does any one know, if I book the hotel and tickets through Disney, if they run a promotion on tickets or the hotel prices drop, can I just call and ask for the new lower price? :confused3

I'm interested in the answer too. I called to ask if prices ever change once they are posted and was told that they didn't.

As I understand it no. If you book through dreamsunlimitedtravel.com (big time sponsor of the DIS) they will recheck for promotions a few months out and try to get you the lowest price. We're not going until next May, but I felt ok booking through them a few weeks ago because of this promise.

Yes you can. I have done it myself. I had a vacation booked through Disney (this was 2 years ago) and had it all paid for. I had seen a deal they were having for fall prices at the Paradise Pier and changed to that deal. We actually got credited back money to my credit card because it was less then what we had already paid for. :thumbsup2
I cant remember if they had to cancel it and rebook or if they were just able to change it up. But either way we were able to get the cheaper deal. :)

We have booked through Disney and the price did go DOWN. But it was before the package was sent out. I'm sure once the package is mailed there isn't much that could be done.

All I did was call and the CM was able to make the adjustment to the lower price.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't something that could be done.

I wouldn't expect any specials through the holidays though.

Have you considered not booking a package? I have found I can save by booking the hotel myself and looking for specials on tickets, either online or Costco.

I second for booking elsewhere. You can save a lot of money. We are going the first week of December also. We booked with cheaptickets.com (orbitz sister company). We got 20% off of the GCH, the other DLR hotels are available too. This saved us $600 over Disney's website. Plus we purchased our park hoppers through way.com, 3 day park hopper with magic morning is only $235.

Yes, I did some more research and decided to book elsewhere! I just learned about way.com tonight! It ends up being cheaper!

With the helpful hint from the DIS'ers, I book all my own reservations for a trip. It generally makes for quite a savings.

Congratulations on doing your own booking!!

I just booked our trip through cheaptickets, and saved a bunch. However, we really want to stay concierge at DLH, and that wasn't an option. Do you know if we can just call and add it, or will they just charge us the additional cost of the concierge plus the amount we were discounted? Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks!
