Has anyone used priceline to book for the night prior to leaving. If so, can you tell me what information you put in and a estimate of what price you got the room for. Thanks

Many, many, many times. Look at www.biddingfortravel.com to see what hotels are going for. I used to get an airport hotel as cheap as $23 to $28, but lately they seem to be going higher. We most frequently got the Marriott, followed by the Renaissance and Holiday Inn Select. BE SURE TO BID THE HIGHEST STAR LEVEL! Otherwise, you could end up at a really scummy LaQuinta (not to be confused with the LaQuinta Suites, which is a different hotel and is fine).

Ditto biddingfortravel.com It's a wonderful site, but I agree, if you want their help to bid on Priceline, make sure you read the site thoroughly first. :cat:

Is it best to bid closer to travel time? I've bid twice for October and got turned down at $45 & 50.

The room I have reserved near the airport is $80 - but I would really like the convenience of the Hyatt----I need more pixie dust!
