Having been frustrated by what I thought were high rental car prices for my upcoming trip, I just purchased a rental car using Priceline and I'm very happy about the price.
It was my first success using Priceline. I've always been leary about using them for air travel, but I've tried to purchase rental cars before with no success.
Before I tried Priceline, I tried every major company using just about every combination of codes from mousesavers and the entertainment book. I couldn't find a full size car for less then about $230.
So, I tried a few offers with Priceline and finally got accepted by Avis at $18 per day.
Here are the details if anyone is interested.
MCO Pick-up 2/24/2010 10:00am
MCO Return 3/02/2010 9:00am
Bid Amount $18 per day x 6 days = $108
Taxes & Fees $63.42
Total $171.42
