Priceline Question

I was wondering has anyone ever won a bid and upgraded for a decent price at the counter. We won a full size car for a great price and I now I decided to take my 3 year old nephew and I would really like a minivan. So I was wondering if anyone ever did this. Thanks. Michelle

If upgrades are available for your rental car, they will be offered on our website in the section where you view your itinerary. This section can be accessed from the priceline.com home page by clicking on the "Check Your Request" link in the upper right corner of the page. Or, if you have already made a Name Your Own Price reservation, just click here to access the "Check Your Request" section of our website.

If upgrade options are not available on our website for your Name Your Own Price® reservation, you can request an upgrade from the rental company directly at pick-up at the rental counter.

The fact that one or two posters were able to get an upgrade is irrelevent. The only way you could expect to get a reasonably priced upgrade is if the rental agency had a surplus of min-vans and few (if any) cars in the category you reserved (or higher categories). In other words slim and none.

Follow PLs instruction and see if you can book, and pay for, an upgrade in advance.

Unfortunately lots of MCO travelers want a "free" or "cheap" upgrade to a minivan and... Priceline/Hotwire bookings are generallly at the bottom of the "give them stuff" list. I would not expect a good deal on one.

You'll likely be able to upgrade, we have with PL but don't expect a great deal. You get a great deal when you win a bid because you're willing to pay in advance and accept whatever company they line you up with...

If there is a minivan special going on or they have a bunch you'll do ok i suspect.
