Does the person who books/pays for the room have to stay in it? My MIL is coming in town this weekend and we are getting her a hotel room. On the page where you enter the person's name it says this..
Please enter the name of the person who will be checking into the hotel. The person shown below must present a valid photo ID and credit card at check-in.
Does the credit card shown at check-in need to match the one used to pay? Will it work if we are there when they check in?

Hi, I have booked many rooms for people/guests who come to speak at our church. I use the church's credit card and info to book the room but put the persons name who will be staying in the room on the Priceline request. The person staying in the room just needs to show ID and have a credit card so the hotel can bill any charges they incur during their stay.

So to answer you question, yes you can book the room for her. Make sense?
