We are doing a last minute trip this Saturday and I need help. Can anyone tell me what to do with hotwire and or priceline. I would prefer something that includes a free hot breakfast.Any tricks? Thanks in advance.

Hi, with those two booking sites you get what you get and no breakfast is guaranteed as part of the hotel...

You can take a chance, but, again, no guarantee. IMHO, however, with the money saved on a 2 1/2 star hotel for $45 or so, you can get a great breakfast, maybe even Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge on the $$$ you saved!...Lots of good breakfast places all over the area if you do not get one with breakfast...

your choice...good luck...Ted

I like Hotwire- here's how it works.

You enter your dates of travel and city you are staying in. A list of available hotels comes up- you can fine tune the locations within the city you need at that time. The price per night, hotel area, star rating, amenities offered, and other general information will be available- the one thing you WON'T know until you book is the name of the actual hotel (bookings are non-refundable, btw).

I have had really good luck with Hotwire- give them a try! Just make sure you match up the star rating, area, and amenities before you book, so you will get approx. what you expect.

Priceline is pretty much the same, EXCEPT you bid on the price. Say you want a 3 star hotel in LBV with a hot breakfast. You bid the price you'd be willing to pay, and Priceline "shops" their inventory. If a hotel accepts that price, you win the bid, and at that point, you are booked with a non-refundable reservation. At that time, you will find out the name of the hotel. If none of the hotels will take that $$ amt, you will be told to change either your bid price or the star rating. I don't like this system as much- it takes longer and I have had experiences of having to pay a bit more for the same quality hotels compared to Hotwire.

Hope that helps a bit- good luck with trying out either site!!

Also, try heading over to www.betterbidding.com- the forums there are great for helping to understand the whole process. They list which hotels people have gotten with prices, areas, etc.

Thanks for this site. We a looking for a room for our arrival day but was a little nervous to use Hotwire. It was nice to see what kind of place you get for the star rating. Now if we can only find a deal on a car. I don't always like to use the Disney transportation. Cars are so expensive in September. Perhaps they will get cheaper closer to our departure.

I highly recommend them too! I've booked with Hotwire about 4 times now and every time I knew which hotel I'd be getting and their advice was always right on!

with their advice I got the Hyatt inside MCO for only $59! :woohoo:

Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield Inn & Spring Hill Suites both by Marriott, and Embassy Suites all offer free breakfast so just look for those.

Also..Hotwire is a good place for a rental car too. We got Avis last time for a great deal

Don't forget about biddingfortravel.com. Similar to betterbidding but more info the better when bidding. You can usually get a priceline car cheaper than hotwire but a few $ per day. We got a full size for 14 days over the July 4th holiday for $12 per day.

Saw a last minute deal from 4-27 to 5-4 on Ebay for $200 for the entire week in a 2 bdrm. unit (sleeps 6)at the Orbit One Vacation Villas which is a sister resort to Liki Tiki Village and so you have guest priviledges at the resort to use the Liki Tiki waterpark. The ebay seller is get-a-vacation. Much better than staying in a cramped hotel room even if you don't stay for an entire week!!
