Has anyone ever used this service for a rental car? if so how was your experience with it?

As long as you do your research and remember that you CAN NOT under any circumstances change or alter your reservation. Even if your flight is delayed, they will hold your vehicle, but not cancel the prepaid booking.

Using biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com will help you get estimates for your proposals.

For instance, I just won a bid for 8 days at MCO for $12 per day for a compact. I saved at least $100, and was placed with National which is on airport. No shuttle!

I love, love, love Priceline. As long as your travel plans are firm, it can be a great deal. I recently won a mid-sized in Tampa for $15/day. I had been getting rates of $63+/day using codes and coupons. It saved me over $200 for my 3 day rental.

Nice :thumbsup2! I have happily, successfully used Priceline for hotels and airfare all over the country for years, but have never tried it for rental cars. Do you have to be renting from the airport, or would Priceline work with pick up/drop off at the Car Care Center? Also, when you place a bid, is that just the rental car charge... as in, do they then add on tax and fees before giving you your total, or do you only pay what you bid X the number of days you need the car?

They add it all up, I usually go to orbitz to see what I could get a car for first. Orbitz will not charge you, so I booked a mid size thru them for 10 days that cost 210. Now I can work priceline to see if I can bid under that, but I know that they'd have to accept a bid of no more than $12 a day because with taxes and fees it'll end up over $210 with that base.

Good Luck
