I'm kinda skeptical doing this but I thought I'd give it a try by naming my price. I want to stay a few nights near Univeral Studios but know nothing about the area and kinda worried about getting a hotel not is a decent area. It will only be me and my ds 11.

Has anyone done this and were you pleased with the hotel given? What star rating hotel did you choose and what price did you offer? I dont need luxury just a good nights sleep.

Thanks!

go to www.betterbidding.com

It will give you the latest updates on what hotels are in what area, what they have been going for recently, etc.

I have only used Priceline once for a hotel, but after studying betterbidding.com, I was pretty sure what hotel I was bidding on. And I got it. It was wonderful. I bid on two rooms - 1 for the kids and 1 for us. I called the hotel after winning and they even gave us connecting rooms. So, I can say my one and only experience with priceline for hotels was very good. But only because I pretty much knew what I was bidding on.

Thank you, I'll look at it now.

I use hotline and have had wonderful results with it but I have never tried in Orlando.

Hotwire works like Priceline and we have used both for Universal. Priceline we go 4* for the Peabody and usually get it for around $80-95. Hotwire is good for Crown Plaza Universal using the icons shown on BetterBidding. I tried once for the Grand Bohemian downtown and got Omni Championsgate which was a very pleasant surprise.

I just registered at BetterBidding and cruising around. I have not seen any icons yet.

I find that with using betterbidding and hotwire, I can identify which hotel I am getting. I don't know how Priceline works but with hotwire they show you how many stars and which amenities the hotel has as well as the price. I try to match that up with the pinned hotels on betterbidding. If I get an exact match and I know what there are no offending hotels that may have the same stars and amenities, I'll purchase it.

Thank you, that helps alot.

I have had only good experiences using both Priceline and Hotwire, but I find Hotwire to offer the greatest savings.

My only wish is they would expand their hotel selections. About 4 years ago I got the WDW Swan on Hotwrite for $99...but I dont think they are patnered with the SWAN any longer.

A few years ago, the RPR was a hotwire hotel. Those were the days - entertainment discounts and hotwire :goodvibes
