anyone done this? - any hidden fees(on the name your own price section) If you request MCO - will the rental car be AT the airport and not a shuttle to the car?

Thanks

Each time we have used Priceline's Name your Price, we have ended up with a rental car at the Airport, no shuttle needed. But there are a few companies they deal with who are off site, just the luck of the draw really. But if you are saving a decent amount of money, we look at the few minutes in the shuttle van as worth the money saved! Especially with the crazy high prices out there for rental cars this year!

We got a great deal last year by naming our own price (no hidden fees) but were shuttled to a place offsite (Hertz, I believe?) They did try really hard to sell us a bunch of extras when we got there but that is to be expected.

I think it really depends on where the rental cars are located within the airport. The only time we did Priceline was out of Ft. Meyer's and the rental car lot was just across the taxi stand. At O'Hare, the desk is in the airport, but you do have to take a shuttle because the rental cars are at the edge of the airport property (but are still considered at the airport).

Either way, I believe Priceline tells you which vendors they use when you name your own price, so I just made sure they all were actually included in the airport before I completed the transaction.

We got a GREAT deal!

Good Luck!

I'm pretty sure that Hertz is the only one that's off airport. OP, check out the Transportation board here on the Dis. Lots of people over there have used Priceline and/or Hotwire very happily! :thumbsup2

Okay I did priceline saved over $115 from dealing directly with rental companies and using discount codes - Ended up w/Alamo - its on Airport property - no shuttle - So we are happy

Here is a link to my info on the transportation board

last year I was able to get a great deal though Mousesavers at Alamo, this year their price was up by over $100. I figured I would give priceline a shot and got a full sized SUV (Ford Edge but I had the choice of 7-8 different kinds at the airport) from Emerald for under $200 for the week. Plus Emerald is just across the street in the parking garage from the airport. Im my opinion its a great deal and I will do it again if we go this fall!!:thumbsup2
