Not that is matters now because the OP booked and it was Dolphin but the OP stated the resort was $177 and 4*. I searched for the $177 hotel never noticing the it was 4* and not 4.5*. The $177 hotel is the Swan at 4.5* . Dolphin was $173. That is why I said Swan.

Did contact HW to verify that we’d receive the Mansions. Took a good half hour on hold, but she verified with WDW we’d be in one of the two standard buildings but with a garden view.
While we were chatting, I inquired as to the problem I read here as to adding children on after the fact; whether calling WDW or requesting the booking agency make the change.
She said they ran into issues when people would book for 2 adults & then request to add children. Often, it would turn out the children were over 10 y.o., identifiable by their MDE accounts. WDW was likely not happy to be lose the extra adult room fees.
Wonder if the extra rates for kids that’s being imposed is a Disney mandated price increase of some sort. Due to those who had caused red flags to fly. Certainly would penalize those who legitimately are just attempting to add their under 10 y.o kids to a HW res

) conversations with WDW, I was told the problem is definitely an issue of adding kids to a reservation - I can’t remember how it was worded to me, but more or less “it’s been going on for years and we finally decided to crack down on enforcing our policy”
How likely is this to be CSR?
Not to be flip but unless somebody made a new resort overnight in that area that is 3.5 stars, has an airport shuttle and is rated 4.1 on HW, it’s CSR.

All great points, but Disney doesn't know you got a hot rate.Disney doesn’t change for kids in the room rate until they hit 18.

It makes me wonder why now. Are there that many 3rd party bookings that require adding kids at any given time?
To Hotwire’s credit, they do say in bold print all over their site that changes to a “hot rate” reservation are not permitted. So it’s not a surprise there’s pushback on adding people (any people) to a reservation. Same as dropping a night.
HW knows Disney’s policy, Disney knows HW (Expedia) policy, and neither are budging. As long as Disney keeps releasing rooms to 3rd party companies, this is going to be the norm. Interesting to see how it all plays out.

Does anyone have experience using the HW drawing tool app when booking and/or be able to determine its accuracy? I downloaded the app today and have been messing with it.
Trying to find 5/14 - 5/17 and see one for $132-$134 a night and looks to be in the vicinity of the All-Stars based on the distance to WDW landmarks. It's in Bonnet creek, 3-star, and has an airport shuttle. 4.0 Very Good! rating.
One listed at $124 appears to be Sports and the drawing tool agrees (at least I think it does - unless I'm doing it wrong
Any thoughts of what this hotel might be? I'm definitely aiming for a Disney resort on this trip since I don't want to rent a car since it's just DD and myself. There is no WDW listed for transparent booking so nothing to compare it to.
