Priceline Express Deals

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help me book a Disney hotel, a little background, I'm a single mom with 6 kids, (4 mine, 2 foster) traveling to do Disney 2/19-2/26. I'd love to stay on property for as cheap as I possibly can and have recently discovered that it is possible with Hotwire or Priceline. Can someone help me with what to look for? I really don't care which resort, as long as it's cheap and on Disney property. Thanks!
Your cheapest bet is 2 value resorts rooms. But I looked and did not see Pop on there but I did see Coronado Springs for $110 a night on Hotwire, total $957.12 x 2 rooms, so $1914.24 total for the rooms.

You will need 2 rooms for sure as the limit is 4 over age 2 and 1 under age 2. However, you will have a problem booking them unless one of your kids is over 18. Legally there has to be an adult in each room since they do not guarantee connecting rooms. It's not impossible to book 2 rooms for your family but it could be very problematic if not booking directly with Disney.
You could book a DVC resort in a 2 bedroom but that’s not cheap. Another option would be WBC in a 2 bedroom but you would need a car.....if you are unfamiliar with WBC this is a GREAT place to stay for a large family and it's on property (sort of).

For the uninitiated, WBC stands for Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It has its own thread here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/the-we-loooooove-bonnet-creek-thread-part-4.3366139/

While doing research for October and the 50th we began to drift toward staying at Swan for a few reasons...I checked PL and saw rooms already listed for October. My question is does anyone know if resort view balcony rooms ever pop up or do they only offer regular rooms?

I'm seeing great deals for Swan/Dolphin on marriott.com. I see no advantage to using opaque booking sites for S/D in this environment. When I use hotwire/priceline, I stick to the Disney hotels.

The problem is room capacity. You will need another adult to get 2 rooms. If you have another adult, then pop is available those dates for $98/room/night, and Coronado for $108/room/night.
2 bedroom villas will be outlandishly expensive $800+.
Edit: missed the other posts, apologies for repeating

My son is 17, he will be 18 in may, I would put him, my 16 year old and my 13 year old in the room, do they pay much attention to who is in each room?

The risk is too high honestly. You'd be accepting the possibility of not getting connecting rooms, and the chance that those 3 would be at a different part of the resort, no where near you.

I have a friend who might be interested in going with us, if she goes I will be able to book two rooms for sure, how do I find the $98 Pop?

Disney asks for everyone's names and ages.

It may be possible to get two guaranteed connecting rooms at Pop Century. Disney does not normally guarantee connecting rooms, but that usually comes up in connection with extended families that want to be near each other. I've read that the situation is different with a family that wants the parents to be in one room and the children in another. For example, see post 37 of this thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/did-a-cm-just-drop-me-a-big-hint.3493120/page-2#post-55505633

I've seen that mentioned elsewhere too. However, I would not book two non-refundable rooms through Hotwire or Priceline and then hope that Disney will turn them into a guaranteed connecting room reservation. Book directly through Disney if you want this option. I don't think you can even do it online. Call them, tell them you need two guaranteed connecting rooms at Pop Century because it's one parent (you) with your children. Ask about discounts. I don't know if you'll save more with Disney's room-only discount or the vacation package offer. It may depend on how many days you're spending in the parks.

Booking directly with Disney will cost you more for the room than booking through Hotwire. Normally, Hotwire would be the better deal. But in your circumstances, I recommend dealing directly with Disney.

1. Go to Hotwire.com, run a search for your dates and Walt Disney World Resort.
2. After the initial search runs, choose under Amenities: Airport Shuttle, under Areas: Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek
3. The resulting search should show a Hot Rate 3-star resort with a 4.4 rating, when you click on it, the room choice should include one queen bed and one murphy bed. That's likely Pop Century, although there is a chance it's Art of Animation. Art of Animation was a 4.3 rating the last I know, but a change of 0.1 could occur with just a few good ratings.

When I just ran the search the price was $100, discounted from $167.

Edit: I'm going to correct myself. AoA doesn't have murphy beds, even in the refurbished rooms. If it says murphy bed, it's Pop.

Thank you so much! $100 is doable for me!

I don't know if I'm not searching for the right thing but my dates are 2/19-2/26 and that deal does not show up for me

I found it for $132/nt
I'm guessing you searched for an adult and children instead of leaving it on the default of 2 adults, no children. It seems the best prices show up if you don't list children. Others have reported that you can add the children by contacting Disney afterwards. See post 6783, 6757-58, and 6712 & 6715 in this thread. I haven't done it. Maybe others can advise you about it.

That was it, thanks!

I just purchased airfare for a quick weekend getaway 3/5-3/7. Not seeing any good deals on basically anything. Still too early or should I just accept that it might be a bad time for deals?

Disney doesn't care who is physically in which room. They will link the named guests for the room to the corresponding magic bands (if you get them), so worst case scenario is that you might need to be aware of which bands can open which door.

You know your kids best. For some people, having the teen room on another floor or building in the same resort would be a deal breaker. For others, it would be no big deal. We usually get two rooms when we travel (family of 5). While we always try for connecting rooms, it's not always possible. Sometimes the boys are down the hall or even on another floor. It's not ideal, but it's not a huge concern. For reference, they are in middle school and have cell phones, so I don't worry about losing contact. With my kids, I wouldn't be dissuaded from a good deal by the risk of non-connecting rooms, but that's a personal decision that will very by family.
