I got my bid of $11/day for a compact with Priceline and then I upgraded $2/day cause I decided I did want a mid-size - so $13/day for us too for the end of June. This was a much better rate than I had been getting.
I just got a minivan from Priceline for $17/day not 5 minutes ago. Rental dates 5/13 to 5/24 (11 days). With fees, total cost was $299. Rental agency is Alamo.
Ironically, I had a reservation with Alamo booked thru their website from a few weeks ago for $414 for the same car and time period. Just saved $115 with Priceline.
That's awesome! Did you try lower bids and were rejected or was $17 your initial bid? I put in for a minivan for $10 (not expecting it to be a serious bid) and they told me $17 was a good bid, $18 was a great bid. I'm looking for 11 days also and $300 is about what I want to pay, if not lower.

I would like to give priceline a try but I'm afraid I'll get stuck with hertz who is on off sight agency right?
I have a mini van for 10 days tax and all for 370 with Alamo is that a good deal? or would you give Priceline a try for something better?
Last year i paid about 250 for 9 or 10 days (standard suv), those were the days!!!!
Are you saying that Hertz usually doesnt go that low for their cars.
Im thinking I'd like to have a standard suv or a minivan. Does Hertz rent those type of vehicles? which one would you ask for to get the best chance of not getting hertz? Our dates are may 28th till June 7th.
