Priceline and Connecting Rooms

I've used Priceline in the past (for non-Orlando trips) with great luck. DH and I now have 2 DDs traveling with us. If we are all in one hotel room, there is no way we will be able to get DD#1 (2 years old) to go to sleep while we are still up - which either means she stays up late or we go to bed early! So, we would want to get two connecting rooms, so that we could put her to bed, and yet we could stay up. First of all, what are the chances that I would not be able to get connecting rooms if I get rooms on Priceline? I've heard that some hotels will always give you connecting rooms if there are only two adults in the party - is this true? Also, should I be concerned about any safety issues if we put DD in bed in the next room, and close the door between the rooms until she falls asleep? I would open it up again later, and we could bring our baby monitor, so I'd think it's okay. But, at the same time it feels odd to think of leaving her alone in a hotel room!

Hopefully we'll be getting accomodations through a friend's timeshare exchange, in which case this is all a moot point, but I'm trying to come up with a backup plan.

IMHO, you would be taking a chance and the odds are not on your side. Most hotels assign Priceline customers ROH - Run of the House. In other words, they can put you anywhere.

That said, there's nothing to stop you from calling the hotel and making that request. You might get it.

Hope your other option comes through or you can find anothr way to book your 2 rooms.

Best wishes -

I agree with CarolMN. Many hotels now don't even have connecting rooms and there is no guarantee which property you will get with priceline. That said - I've never had a request refused when I've booked a priceline room.

There are no guarantees but you are more likely to have requests like this fulfilled in Orlando area where there are alot of kids staying in hotels.

Thanks for the input.

Just as a little added info. - if I try Priceline, I only intend to include Resort Hotels in the Disney area, which means places like Swan, Dolphin, Marriott World Center, and I think the Wyndham in Disney and Gaylord Palms. I would think that most, if not all, of these resort hotels do have connecting rooms.
