Hi - I'm sure this question has been asked, and I did a search - but BOY there was just tooo much to sort thru.

IF I were to use PL (please don't send me the link for bidding for travel) would I use the 4* option or Resort Option? Also, how can you find out ALL the hotels/resorts included in the WDW area? (I HAVE to stay on WDW property!!!)

Thanks!!! :)

Since you have to stay on Disney property DON'T USE PL. They have hotels not located on property (Marriott)

If you HAVE to stay on WDW property do not use priceline. 4* and above properties that have come up in in the WDW Vicinity (see map at priceline) are the Wyndham Palace, Marriot Orlando World Center, Hilton in the WDW Village, Swan/Dolphin but there is no guarantee that you would get one of these. There is no way of knowing what is available and such. You can get great rates thru priceline but if you are not willing to accept what they give, my best advice would be to not use them.

I thought you could get the Swan/Dolphin, or at least say DD hotels like Courtyard, Grosvernor, etc..... ???

It is possible to get those but you have no control over what hotel you get. Once again If you HAVE to stay on property priceline isnt the way to go. Once your bid is accepted they charge your card. Flexibility is the key to using priceline. Most unsatisfied priceline customers are ones who did not understand what they were getting themselves into.

If you go to www.biddingfortravel.com and go to the Orlando hotel section they have a list of hotels that have come up (new ones may appear at anytime). THERE IS NO WAY TO GUARANTEE YOU'LL GET A HOTEL ON DISNEY PROPERTY, none of the Disney owned hotels participate and it appears the S/D doesn't participate. If you bid under $55/night for a resort hotel in the Disney area it is likely (but not guaranteed) you'll either get the Wyndham or nothing (MOWC) tends to require a higher bid BUT YOU MAY BE UNPLEASANTLY SURPRISED. I suggest you go to www.mousesavers.com and try the codes and discount strategies Mary has on her site.

Thanks Lewis - I have an AP, and all the AS's are booked for my dates....so right now the plan is to go to CSR, and I got a good rate....but I was trying to see if I could do better. Thanks!

Hi,
Yes you can safely bid on 4* resorts that will be within the "Downtown Disney Area" but the Swan/Dolphin hasn't came up for sometime.

When making your bids "MAKE SURE YOU BID 4*" and above in every area "EXCEPT for Universal/Seaworld Area" which also has a 4*.

You can get free rebids by starting off low picking 4* WDW area then after getting rejected just bump up your $ offer and add another non 4* area (again DON'T pick the Universal/Seaworld Area!).

This link will help you see the hotels that have been coming up lately via Priceline in the Orlando area.

Hope that helps....
We used priceline and was accepted at the DD Hilton...

NHL FAN - thank you sooo much! That's EXACTLY what I was looking for! :)

It looks like the 3* is iffy, huh? Well, I'll discuss it w/others in my party & see what they think. (I've been burned by this priceline before....)

Thanks!

YEP...
3*'s are very iffy when it comes to Downtown Disney...but sometimes the price is right.

I made our offer in Feb. for the 2nd week in Dec and now wish I would have waited as there are quite a few good offers like the postcard for the Disney Mods. I received last week and the offers for Downtown Disney resorts that are now listed in the Disney Magizine I received yesterday.

I paid $75 night for the DD Hilton (including a $25 Bonus)...

Good Luck.

and you may get "burned by PL" again. Look at the PL map. It isn't just the DD area. MOWC comes up as Resort and it is not in DD. If you bid 4* or resort you'll get a nice hotel BUT IT MAY NOT BE WHERE YOU THINK IT IS.
NHL FAN Although you got a DD hotel THERE IS NO WAY TO GUARANTEE THAT. A $75 bid could have gotten you the MOWC (which is not in DD)
PL may be OK if you don't care where in the zone your hotel is BUT YOU SAID YOU WANT TO BE ON DISNEY PROPERTY.

Yea, I think I know what you guys are saying... We planned on renting a car anyway.... but maybe I'll just see if there's any openings on those AS's for my dates!

Thanks everyone!
