Disney World is raising the prices for a pop...or soda if you prefer. Right now it's only at Magic Kingdom, but I'm sure it will go up all over WDW soon.

Price increases just at Magic Kingdom right now:

Regular size goes from $2.19 to $2.59
Large size goes from $2.49 to $2.89

It won't really bother us, I guess...we mainly take our water or ask for cups of ice water.

I find it interesting that the price is only going up in MK, for right now. You'd think it'd be a universal price change.

Being from the South (where we call everything "Coke" or sometimes "soda"), I read the title of the thread and wondered why the rates at Pop Century would be increasing without the rest of the Value Resorts. :lmao:

Me too!

Yeti 77, that's what I though too! To people in Wisconsin, Pop is not soda.

The price increase won't bother me, I mainly only get soda when I am on the dining plan. I prefer to drink lots of water!!

Yep me too. I call it Coke. One of northern friends ask me what when they don't have Coke. I stated that I drink what they have.

But most southern restaurants have Coke and that's all that Disney's ever had since I have been going.

WDW also has some yummy Nestle's Chocolate Milk! :teeth:

Same here! I only drink soda :goodvibes

Just my two cents but I'm guessing that, besides being a money grab, it's to help offset the resort wide roll out of the RFID drink system that I'm sure is coming as soon as they work out all the kinks out over at AllStar Sports...then they can place the soda machines on the other side the counter reducing the need for a "drink person" CM

In the UK we call it a 'fizzy drink'!

That's quite a jump though! Squeezing every penny out!

I thought the same as Yeti77-- that the price of the resort POP was going up!
Glad to hear it's just soda... although that is a crazy high price!

Debi:confused3

I still think the drink prices, compared to Six Flags and the NJ Boardwalk, are a great value. Especially since they give you a big ol' cuppa soda!

I am pretty good about bringing my own drinks into the parks, or just sticking with water --- this will just motivate me further!

Still cheaper than Disneyland. I think our large is $3.29!

I was thinking the same thing! Still sounds like a bargain to me! I checked All Ears to be sure: Regular $2.79 Large $3.29 at DLR. Why on earth is everything more expensive in California than the rest of the country? :confused3

Actually, we rarely get soda anyway. We always ask for a free cup of water. You have to ask for a cup because if you just ask for water, they are likely to sell you a water bottle for an outrageous price.
