Price of park tix HIGHER for vacay package??

I realize I am an English major and math may elude me sometimes. But I have been running numbers as we are about to book 2 nights at AKL and 3 nights at either BC or WL. We're looking at 4 park hopper tix -- 2 adult, 2 juniors. When i run JUST the ticket prices on the Disney website, I come out at $1399.42. When I run it as part of the 'fall room rate discount' room package, I come out at $1405. How is it MORE to do them as part of a package deal??? Granted only $6, but that makes no sense to me. Shouldn't there be an incentive to book tix as part of your package??

Either way we will prob get them from a third party. We have a Wyndham special offer that would take our 4 tix to $1283. AAA was still $1343 so no sense going that route. Am I missing something???? FWIW we're booking using a 15 digit pin, not the fall room rate.

When we've tried to break down a package price there seems to be a small difference just like the one you came across. It's not the ticket prices. We've decided there's some kind of handling/booking/mystery fee although it's never the same amount and it's only a few dollars.

In all the years I've been going to Disney, I've never priced out a package to be less than booking the components separately. I always give my local AAA the opportunity to find me a better price. But unless I want the AAA extras, I just go it alone!
