Does anyone know the price of these? I've searched but cannot find out anything about them. Unfortunatly our budget doesn't permit us to stay onsite so I'm hoping we can buy the express passes to save the long waits in July.

Thank-you, Daisy:sunny:

Your not going to like this! - Express passes can be bought but can only bought by park, by day. For example, If I was going to be there for 3 days.. I would have to buy a pass for the first day for both parks, and so on for the whole trip which is VERY exepensive.

If your still up for you can order them from UNIvacations (http://www.univacations.com).

When you search for the tickets on your date you should see something like this:

Universal Express Plus-Islands of Adventure ($37.28)*
Universal Express Plus-Universal Studios Florida ($37.28)*

This is why staying on-site saves people so much money. By the time you buy one of these for each day, each park, for each person in your family you could of had a night or two at a on-site hotel.

Anymore help with hotels, or tickets just PM me or e-mail me at aaronmyers@bellsouth.net

*This price refected the price per day, per park. You also must reserve the day that you want to use them, you can't just buy them and use them whenever.

Yea I thought they were more than 20.00 (saw that somewhere here I think). We only have one day in park - late check in upon arrival night before and leaving early next morning (two nights in hotel). Onsite would cost somewhere around the $440.00 mark if I am correct. We found a suite for $100.00 for two nights (incl tx and breakfast). I went over it a thousand times, hope I've made the right decision.
Thanks for all your help Aaron!!

DO the express passes give you the same benefits as the FOTL pass though?? If you are only going for one day..... is the express pass the way to go???? I feel so lost.. I am a Disney expert.. but a IOA novice!! LOL!!!

Thanks for any advice!!

Kathy

Is this the same as FOTL - you mean you can buy that? You don't need to stay at an onsite hotel? I'm so confused as well - haven't been to Univ. for awhile and these changes are all new. Are there 3 lines to get on rides - a FOTL, a Fastpass, and a regular line? Help!

*waves a giant red flag*

There are THREE kinds of express, and they are as follows:

FREE EXPRESS: This is the kind you get from the machines around the park. Anyone with an admission ticket of any kind (one day, multi-day, AP, etc) can get them. You go to the Express machines and swipe your ticket. Choose the appropriate attraction (if there is more than one available), then choose the time you want to reserve your express for. A ticket will print out with the time and the computer will show you when you can get your next express pass. Yo can get one every 1-2 hours.

EXPRESS PLUS (paid express): This is the kind of express you buy. The ticket you get looks identical to a park ticket. The cost varies per season, and the types of tickets vary. During the slow season, the more expensive combo express is available. It is good at both parks. During all seasons, the express plus available is for the park you buy it in ONLY and valid on that day ONLY. Studio express plus cannot be used at IOA. Islands express plus cannot be used at USF. The express plus allows ONE express admission per attraction in the park listed on the ticket.

ROOM KEY EXPRESS: If you're staying at the RPR, HRH, or PBH, your room key is your express pass. Everyone must have theirs with them, as there are often multiple checkpoints. Room keys are valid at both parks, and there is no limit to how many times you can use this perk in an hour/day.

All above listed forms of express go in the same line: the Express line, which is indicated at the front of each attraction.

DM- I've got a quick Mummy Express question.

Have the number of free express passes distributed for Mummy been limited since it opened? I'm asking because I grabbed a free express pass around 9am last week and the earliest time available was already 3:20 which seemed late.

So if we're staying at an onsite hotel, we have to wait in line with everyone who has an express pass or an express plus pass? That sounds like it would be a long line.

If you are staying on-site you stand in line with the Express Pass Plus people.

"FOTL" doesn't get you to the front of the line (I dislike that name.)

It lets you into the express line (I like to call it Unlimited Express), so yes, you're in line with Express pass and Express Plus holders. Even so, waits don't often get above 15 minutes. Remember, everyone tours differently. I splurged and stayed onsite last week (even though I live in Tampa, lol) and the unlimited Express was great!

We were just there a week ago. Even when the posted stand-by times were between 60 and 120 minutes, we always got on between 10-15 minutes with our room key. FOTL is awesome.;)

I would say yes. It's not my area of expertise, but it seems very likely. Then again, Mummy is the most popular attraction at USF, so Express tends to be done between 1030-1130 every day.

What made me most curious was that this morning that I got my express passes around 9am, there was no line for them at all. It was the morning last week where they were paving NY Street (or something like that), and they were stopping people from entering NY except to go experience Twister. A few people (including me) made a sidetrip to the Express machines, but not many were given out by the time I got there, so I thought the 3:20 time was kind of strange. Wow, I'm rambling on about nothing!

There was no express until later in the afternoon while the construction was going on. I heard one of the CMs tell someone as we walked up. At first, I was like crud... so much for FOTL, but the CM said that resort guests were still given express. We just didn't have to share the line with the normal express pass people. We were able to walk onto the ride without hardly any wait. It was nice for us but I am sure it stunk for people not staying onsite wanting to ride.

My boyfriend and I are going to WDW/Universal July4 - July10th. We are spending 2 days at Universal. I am a DVC member, so we're staying at WDW. I've only been to Universal a couple of times, so I'm not super familiar with it. Would it be worth it to buy the Express Plus? Would you buy it during that time of year? It seems like it would be a pretty crowded time of year, right?

Thanks!!! Kim:wave:

OnIf you're doing one day per park, then I'd recommend it. But they will only be offering the same-day, same-park Express plus as it is the peak season. Also it will be an additional $30/person for the express plus.

But with the 60+ minute waits that will be everywhere, it's worth considering. Just remember that the Express plus will probably sell out by noon.
