anybody recently back and seen/bought a Disney autograph book? i have seen one on ebay for about 6.99 with free delivery. or not sure whether to go for a custom made, spiral bound book for about 9 quid. :confused3

The generic blue WDW autograph books are $6.95 plus tax (I just bought one last week for a friend).

Thanks for letting me know - cheaper than I thought ;) makes a nice change!

It's $16.95 (plus tax) for the expensive version that has pages for photos and includes a pen.

Full range here.

We bought the more expensive autograph/photo album books - they are great. It is also worth knowing that if you write your child's name and address in the book, Disney will return it to you if it gets lost.:thumbsup2

If it is allowed, could you please send me a link to the custom made one please? I have been to Florida 9 times but going with my best friend who has never been before (so excited!!!) and I want to make her up a Florida pack to give her in the airport :) thanks!

'For sale' type posts and advertising are not allowed here but I am pretty sure if you searched on Ebay, you could find one :thumbsup2

I am making my own using by making a Photobook using online software/printer

You might be able to do something similar :)

I am interested in the custom ones but wondered what they are like inside? We have always just used Disney ones and had a photo one once - it was lovely but there weren't many pages and we used it up in about 2 days! I once tried to save the page opposite just to add a photo later but that didn't work - characters just tended to fill the pages before I had a chance to say anything :rotfl2:.

As we are going to Universal too, I was thinking about a Universal one but not sure really as there probably won't be that many characters my DDs are that bothered about - at least I don't think so!

Has anyone had the custom ones and been happy with them? Realise you can't say who you used but they all seem much the same, so thought I'd ask ;).

Elise - I'd love to make a photobook one - but honestly not sure I have the time. I have seen some amazing ones but I'd spend my life wondering if I had the 'right' characters in it and my DD2 in particular will probably get upset if she doesn't see someone that is in her book :lmao:! Probably a recipe for disaster for us! But I do love the look of them :thumbsup2.

Joolz - sorry, probably silly question - do you mean their onsite address in the book or their home address :) At DLP we always used to write in our hotel so that if it went missing, hopefully it would be returned!

I also make ours as a photobook either using online software, or making my own pages and then dragging them into the photobook and it works well, but it is fair to say that we always come home with some blank pages and more often than not, happen across characters we didn't plan to or expect to meet and there is not dedicated page for them. So I use the following approach: I make pages for the characters we know are always there (Mickey, Minnie, etc), for any that are at a character meal we have booked as we know we will get those and any that we really want to meet and are willing to make a point of finding and/or waiting for if necessary. Then I fill the book with some generic pages which are Disney themed but not specific to any character and any 'surprise' meets sign on those. It works well for us and DD likes her personalized book but you are correct in that it does take time and it will likely cost you more than if you'd bought one at WDW.

If you are a bit more pressed for time, have you thought about a flip photo album? Print out cards 6x4 size, take a mini clip board with you with the cards mounted to them and get the characters to sign those. When you get home, place each photo of the kids with the character opposite the corresponding autographed card. That prevents the characters signing on the wrong page. It happens. The furry ones don't always hear too well and we've seen Pluto sign Goofy's spot etc many times lol.

Are you on Facebook? Kenny The Pirate had a post on there over the weekend on his page where he asked people to post photos of their custom made autograph ideas (some great stuff and not all books - some folk are really creative with different ideas, like pillow cases, shirts, photo frame mats and all kinds). I think you can actually view it without a FB account but I'm not 100% certain.

The approach I am taking is to do a page or place to sign for all the character meals then a page for any other character I know DD will want to see such as Marie, Rapunzel and the Frozen princesses.

We do have a generic blue Disney book too that is used when we have duplicate meets etc it has done a few trips but isn't special one off.

When we were in line for Anna and Elsa last week, there was a teenage girl behind us who had a sketch book and was sketching the characters, then having them sign the sketch. Her drawings were fantastic and it looked really good with the signatures too :thumbsup2

Wow, what a great idea! I'm going to make DD do her own next time :lmao:

Just a thought but in the unlikely event you don't get one at the resort (say you are delayed and land late on arrival day or something like that), they are available at all the parks somewhere just inside the entrance - usually the first little shop and if you are there for park opening you can grab one on the way in.

Thanks 2Tiggies and Elise - I do like the idea of doing my own. I will see how it goes - I only have 16 months before the trip you know :rotfl2:!

I am not on FB - probably the only person on this earth! He does have a website as well so there may be something on there - I'll take a look tomorrow - thanks! pirate:

I thought the same thing. I shall wait and buy one there at that price! Does anyone know if the resort shops are likely to carry them?

Nearly every shop on WDW property carries them - you will have no trouble finding one :goodvibes

However if you have an early character breakfast make sure you have it the day before as nothing will be open (learnt that the hard way with a 7.30 at Ohana and no autograph book)
