price of annual passes and renewals

When do you have to renew your annual pass in order to get the better rate? Also, did the prices go up since the ticket prices increased? I tried to go on dvc's site, but it was way to slow!

I am not sure how far after your expiration you can purchase the renewal pass, but I did it once a bit more than a month later, they just backdate the expiration to be one year after the pass originally expired.

You may want to purchase a new AP if you will be making two WDW trips with that following year instead.
