We booked the CR with the kid sized summer savings package "deal". The more we look into it... its hardly a deal at all? We like to save money as much as possible while staying on the monorail loop (were doing a shorter stay and the monorail is a HUGE plus and not to mention a first timer is joining us!). So needless to say.. ive been looking for less expensive alternatives June 1-5. I came across the Poly at travelocity which gave us a 15% discount!! Tempting to switch, but worry being booked through travelocity is a pain to handle things... Would Disney price match? (or if anyone has a less expensive idea:teeth:)

Disney will not price match.

I haven't done travelocity but I have booked a couple of times through orbitz and didn't have any problems once I got the code to link to MDE. Getting the Disney code for your reservation is the hardest part of the reservation process when using these online travel portals.

There may be other travel agents that get blocks of convention rate rooms who can get you a deal 'if they have blocks for your dates. Or you can check with any professional groups that you belong to. They might have a meeting at Disney where you can get a good room discount.

Thank you so much! I had no idea id be able to link it to MDE, now im really considering switching resorts and saving some $$!

As the pp said, Disney does not price match. If you want the other discount, you'd have to book through Travelocity to get it. With that said, if your current dates are June 1-5 for the Disney package, you will be charged a $200 cancellation fee if you cancel as you are less than 30 days from arrival.

Also be aware that if you were doing the Dining Plan, you cannot do Dining Plan with a Travelocity reservation. If you save enough with the Travelocity reservation, it may not be an issue for you. but you need to be aware.

Travelocity receives a certain number of rooms to sell at that rate for Disney. Disney has that agreement in place with Travelocity, and if they were to price match, it would take that booking away from Travelocity as well as the commission they are likely earning on it.
