It's on the Member Site. The price for DVC goes to $94 per point on April 4. Members are being given an extension until May 9 to buy at the current $89 price. Also, they mention MB for members at $10 per point on purchases of 100 points. DVC cautions that the MB offer can end "at any time".

CORRECTED PRICE: The site now indicates the new price will be $95.

WOW! I can't believe this price increase, sales must really be brisk. Does anyone know what the add on prices are selling at on the original "DVC I" resorts and if they are going to be affected as well from this price increase? Thanks!

Regards,
Vince

It says $95 per point now... did it say $94 per point early today??

Laura -- I can almost swear that's what it said just about an hour ago. I even wrote the information down and then came and posted. You are correct that it does now say $95 -- wonder what it'll say tomorrow? ;) (Kidding, I think $95 is correct since it matches what Nick was told by his guide.)

Can someone please tell me what the "Magical Beginnings" savings is all about?

Thanks!
Sammy

MB allows you to sell your first year's allotment of points back to Disney for $10 per point, thus lowering your initial investment per point by that same $10/point. The negative is, of course, you lose the first year's allotment. It is a good deal for those who wish to purchase, but do not have immediate need for the points.

IS DVC ONE RESORTS with 37 year life span
and DVC Two RESORTS with 49 year life span,
all going to $95.00 per point, on May 1,2004
or only DVC TWO??

It did say $94 an hour ago because I went back and fixed three or four posts where I had it wrong on a point price history table.

Now I have to do it all again :(

Oh Jim you don't know how glad I am to hear that!! Thought I was losing it!

Kansas -- I'd like to see that clarified as well. Theoretically, DVC isn't selling any other resort (Vero is now sold-out, too) so I'm not sure what the answer will be for add-ons.

I spoke to my guide today and was told that DVC I will stay at $84 per point.

I just got off the phone with my guide. She said that, to the best of her knowledge, the $95 is *only* for SSR.

She said the meeting was only held yesterday, and no official "training" has yet been given, but this was her understanding. She wasn't 100% sure though.

I'm now waitlisted for my final (final, final, final!) 25 points at either OKW or BCV. I've added on five times...it's a sickness. :)

IF DVC I stays at $84. per point.?

Why would people pay $95.00 per point, for DVC II??

I might be fooling myself, but I think DVC I resorts, are worth a few pennies more, because DVC II resorts, are at $95.00 per point.

Is MB available on DVCI, meaning $10 off the $84 price for add-ons?

~Nancy~

Some folks would probably pay more for DVC II because of the longer length of the contract. Of course, how important that is to someone I guess depends on how old they are when they purchase.A younger person/couple may want DVC II, since they will have use of it longer. An older person may choose to go with DVC I because by the end of the contract term, they might be fairly elderly. I'll be 80 when my DVC I contracts end.

Nancy, they were offering MB of $10 at Vero Beach and you kept the points or $15 and you gave back your first year

I understand they have finally sold out VB at least until/if they execute some ROFR on contracts

The WDW DVC I resorts have no MB option last time I asked

DVC would try their best to steer new members to SSR (DVC II)

thanks

As far as I know, new members can only buy in at SSR. So if someone wanted to buy DVC I, they would have to go resale. As far as add ons go, they are seriously discouraging buying add ons at DVC I resorts. I am on the waitlist for an add on and my guide told me *if* I got it, this would probably be my last DVC I add on :( because the inventory is hard to come by.

So if people want to buy direct from disney (I think alot don't know about resales) then the only option they have is SSR at $95 a point.

Seems puzzling that inventory would be hard to come by. If it was why wouldn't they just raise the add-on price up to $95 along with Saratoga Springs?

I think it would be reasonable that their confidence in offering it at this price implies a continuation of DVCII construction and new projects.

So if I wanted to add-on 100 points at SSR this week and take advantage of MB it would be??? per point?--$79, I think!

Re DVC I: what is DVCMC doing w/ all of the ROFR points they buy back? Are they going to cut down on their ROFR option or hold these points until after SSR is sold out and offer that to those on wait list or those who want to purchase points for the first time?

Add on's at current resorts expire in 2042. SSR expires in 2054. It seems fair that SSR would be more. I also don't think they could compete with the resale market if they were selling add-on's at current resorts for $95.
