While making our ressies this a.m., I asked the MS gal I was speaking with if there were any price increases looming in the near future. She did mention that when SS opens, they are looking at $90~ per point. I am not even sure what it is at right now, but by golly when we bought our resale in April 2000, we paid $52 pp. This is just what she told me and nothing is set in stone.

It could happen as the price NOW is $84 a point so if they do an increase BEFORE BCV sells out it would be anywhere $86-88 so then if there was an increase for the start of SSR then it could easily be over $90 a point

IMHO

It wouldn't shock me either. It's not THAT much higher than what it is now, and I suspect they'll want to slow down sales a bit until the resort is closer to being finished and open.

I kind of think that their stringing out of available properties is done on purpose. It serves two ends. It allows then to jack the prices up and the time that no property is available allows them to push HH and VB.

I guess HH is getting near sold out, VB still has a ways.....I really believe that is part of the reason for this amount of time and the postponing of EPV.

While it wouldn't surprise me, my first reaction is I doubt it. First, MS in general has little knowledge of the prices. Second, with an increase just recently and slower sales than this time last year, my first thought is to think that it will open for presales at the $84 per point level and then possibly a price increase around the time the resort opens or shortly thereafter. Unless the economy picks up by then, we may see the $84 pp for some time to come or a price increase with bigger incentives. We shall see but I hope it goes up that fast or more.

Dean,

Why would you want the price to go up faster?
To increase the value of what I already own.

I get a thrill at seeing the price increases, now that I own. Not that I would want to sell! It just confirms to me that I made the right decision to purchase!

I don't like seeing the prices go up. I never plan on selling what I currently own and will probably add on in the future. These price increases only make that harder. I view our DVC as an investment in my family future rather than a disposable asset.

Maybe you'd like to see the prices go down, that way you'd be able to add on really easily. LOL

I'm with WDWDad -- I wouldn't mind seeing the price go down since I'm not planning to sell but might like to buy. ;)

Add ons would be more affordable. Might take some of the profit out of the rental business though.(LOL)
