Price Increase Coming

Perhaps they are planning to up the prices for internal resales of sold out resorts. Upping the price of AUL and POL could help justify it.

They play the pricing game to boost the opening sales when copper creek comes on line. Disney is very good when it comes to making money.

And the Poly only has studios that are very over priced already. I just don't get a price increase when you can't sell what you have now.

Throughout 2014, Grand Floridian averaged sales of 100,000 points per month. Prices started the year at $155 each and increased to $165 in June. No incentives were offered.

In 2016, Poly is averaging sales of 128,000 points per month. Incentives have been offered all year with net prices in the range of $155-160 per point.

Seems like Poly is doing just fine...selling at a 28% faster clip than Grand Floridian.

Poly is more than half sold now. If pace continues, all 4 million of its points will be gone by December 2017.

If you think DVC prices are expensive, go take a look at rack rates for the hotel rooms.

GF is $500-$650+tax for a studio per night. The rooms ain't cheap. When you come at this from that angle, it's a lot easier to see why people are still paying.

This is silliness. But people will continue to pay. If I wanted Poly or Copper Creek I guess I would too.

I'm just glad I got the Grand Floridian when I did....

I didn't realize sales at PVB is going fine with the promos. However, that doesn't justify jacking up the price at AUL. It has been for sale longer than PVB and it sounds like AUL doesn't sell as well as PVB. I understand the idea of raising prices at AUL & PVB in preparation for rolling out the obscene price at the new resort (CCV, is that accepted acronym for Copper Creek?), but wouldn't that further hurt the already weak sales at AUL? I supposed DVD can always think of some promos only available for purchase AUL later on.

I thought sales at AUL and PVB haven't gone as well as DVD had initially hoped, so how would yet another price increase help the cause? I know DVD has been running promos to drive up sales, so are they essentially going the route of some retailers? Basically, raise the "regular/sticker price" while offering discounts/promos so that potential buyers feel like they are getting a discount and good deal??

LAX

It's al old trick. Increase the price then discount it heavely, both for existing and the new resorts, so people would believe they're getting a lot of value out of their purchase.
I guess they'll start selling the new VWL at $160 as an exclusive offer for existing member, showing a great discount over the "new" price.

I suppose at least the price increase at AUL and Poly will help keep resale prices strong.
