Previously Purchased Resort Mugs

People are always going to try to save money when they go to Disney (hello, it costs an arm and a leg to go) If your going to get angry with people who are refilling older resort mugs, then your going to have to get mad at all those people who bring food, snacks, drinks or water bottles into the park. Disney is losing tons of money on snacks and drinks you know... :mickeybar

Just enjoy your Mickey-time. :earboy2: If Disney doesn't care, then why worry about it?
I've personally been to two different Resorts where I was told they were good forever.

OMG! You all are cracking me up! :rotfl2: I don't even think I would notice if a guest had an old or new or other resort mug. I just wouldn't think to even look.

Hey, if people want to save money let them re-use their cups. As for me, I haven't had to buy honey mustard in 6 months (I stocked up last time I was there with the packets at POR).
MmmmI know what you mean! @ LTT their honey mustard is OUTSTNADING. I think I have enough to last a few more years...maybe...

Mmmm...mac n cheese!

I'm enjoying some right now!

I love this thread! You guys are great!

Lets face it. Some people are just "not right". If you quietly look around during your vacation you could be very bothered by the behavior of others. Sometimes it is even (gasp) my family. So my advice is to stop looking around. You can be horrified, but why? You are on a glorious vacation. You should be blissfully ignorant. The only thing you can control is your own behavior. You don't refill your last year vacation mugs. But somebody will be... (the horror!):earsboy: :flower:

So I guess if I just packed the oldest one (Poly) I could refill it anywhere anytime at any resort without feeling the least bit guilty cause that is what I was told back then. And I doubt Disney CMs would look twice...but I'd sure hate to run into a guest like that drunk guy. (I have beenknown to call arseholes by name and nature!

LOL :rotfl: I know, I was just a WDW first-timer so I didn't know what to think! It was really funny because he was obviously drunk. It was like, "OK, you are worried about someone using a GF mug while you are staggering around in public??" :teeth: I wanted to post it so some of the people who get really upset by the refillable mug issue might remember that it could be a first-time guest that received a go-ahead during their check-in from a CM before they start doing the karate kick ;) I personally would avoid intentionally breaking any kind of policy, but I thought I was following the policy at the time :earseek: then years later I saw these threads....and understood the fuss!

I was under the impression that fountain soda is pennies per cup.

It is and it is brings a large profit margin for the food service operation. That's were Mikey makes all his $$$$ :dancer: and also on the alcohol people chug down at his resorts.

Still, refillalble indefinately seems very generous for the :teacher: bean counter mentality at Disney. Evntually, someone has to pay for all that free soda and trust me, we do.

That said, I'm not the refillable mug monitor ;) I am too busy having fun on my own vacation to worry about what other people are doing ;)

Maybe that man was an accountant from Corporate Headquarters returning from a long lunch ;)

And I agree, don't karate chop the patrons, because it does sound like there are CMs at the cash register giving people this info when they hand them the cup...

OMG, I think people need to stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. Not my business or yours. If I still had my cups I would bring them. Yes it does cost pennies for fountain soda, and for the thousands of dollars we spend to stay at a Disney Resort god forbid we get a free soda now and then.

Careful what you wish for... Many without sin seem to frequent these boards.

We pay alot of money at disney. If we can use the mugs . LET US! Keep your nose out of it!

I didn't realize how many perfect people were in this world. I do not happen to be one of them... Thank God.

Anybody have 4 CBR mugs we can borrow? :rotfl2: I'm kidding. :)

While I think it is wrong to do this I have to say, I have to give them credit for hanging onto mugs like this for as long as some do. If they can keep track of them that long... go for it. They deserve a drink. :)

Yah, you're right...And trust me if they weren't making money off those mugs (new, old and otherwise), they'd stop the program. There may be the hall monitors and those without sin on this board (not me, flames would break out and burn this thread up if I claimied to be perfect :scared1: ), but the bean counters see all, know all. They monitor and when the $$$$ are gone, so is the refillable mug program. ;)

I agree with GoofyDad, if anyone can hang on to something that long and keep track of it, bring the vintage refillable mug and go for it. LadyHawke10 knows to run for her life the other direction if she sees anyone swaggering towards her GF mug and the drink dispenser :rotfl:

You know when push comes to shove I think the folks who are reusing their mugs aren't so much the issue. I think that I saw more people using non-Disney type cups/mugs/big gulps than old mugs. Now, that could be because I sometimes just can't tell what's an old mug and what's a new one. But I sure can tell a 7-11 big gulp container!!! Man those things have to hold the same as 4 refill. mugs. Those are the ones we should be complaining about. I just don't have the time or strenght to worry about or police what/which mug someone is using. Bigger fish to fry in life.

7-11 Big Gulp Container? :rotfl: That belongs under a new thread 'Tacky people doing Tacky Things at Disney'

I've been on these boards for a while and have come to know many perfect people. They tell me of their perfectness all the time. I'm hoping some of that will rub off on me, but so far I'm still an average "joe".

Did anyone see the picture of the young girl dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe that was in the latest issue of the Disney Magazine (I just got mine last week)? Anyway, I think I'll get one of those "cups" to refill at Roaring Fork!
