When I booked our cruise for 11/12/05 last June it was originally planned as a sort of Family reunion with my 2 Sisters/BILs,my neice and our mom (as wellas my dh and dd for a grand total of nine, well since then, both of my sisters have had to cancel due to one buying a new house and one finally becoming pregnant (both good reasons) and Mom just decided 7 days of Disney is not her cup of tea... My question is this: now that we won't be dining with my whole family will DCL automatically put us at a larger table with others or will we be relegated to a table by ourselves? Either way is fine, because family dinner time is a great time for us just about everyday, but it would be nice to meet other people too.

Request what you want. Tables range in size from 4 to 8, but can be placed together to allow larger groups. We normally travel as 2 or us. We have been seated alone, with one other family, with 3 other groups of 2 (total of 8), etc.

If you have a preference, DCL will try to meet your preference. If you don't state a preference, they usually try to fill a table. They do take care to seat you with children of similar ages. For instance, DD had always been with another girl within about 18 months of her age except on our last trip. As a 13 year old, we were with all other adults (which worked out great!) We've met wonderful people as unplanned dinner partners.

Realize that if you like your dinner companions, great. You may choose to do the shows or whatever with them, etc. If you are "just ok" together, you are committed only to pleasant dinner times. If things just don't click, you can tell the head server, and he will have you moved.

thanks! We are pretty outgoing people, and love to have fun at dinner when we are home, (not raucous food fights or anything, just a lot of laughter usually with me being laughee) I would just hate to stuck with a bummer family though, it is good to know that if our dining partners are duds we can ask to be moved. :goodvibes
