Have you guys seen this movie? Well, wow. I just watched it. What'd you guys think?

I have. The first time I watched it I was only about 12 so I didn't really understand much of anything going on but I watched it a few months ago again and it was...interesting.

The scary part is that it's historical fiction. I can't believe things like that happened in the past. It's really sad to think about, esp. since it was 'legal'.

Yeah, it was part of another time where girls got married & had kids younger and younger.

It's definitely...contraversial? Is the word I'm looking for.

That's def. the most fitting word. Like, it's an interesting idea to tell the story on and from a completely innocent point of view, the movie itself is well presented. It's just a very 'touchy' topic.

I actually do like the movie. I like how it lets us form our own opinions about things which is rare in most movies today.

Like the mother (Hattie) - She let her daughter live (&work) in a *****house and pretended like she was her sister. She also slapped her around a couple times, but in the end she came back and got her so Violet could live a normal life with proper schooling.

So basically, we get the freedom to form opinions about the characters.

That's true, it certainly does let you form your own opinions of things. And I like how Louis Malle (the director) made such a movie despite the controversial reviews he knew he was going to get.
Overall, it is a good movie.
