I couldn't decide if I was going to write a Pretrip Report and then decided I would give it a whirl.
A little background. I grew up visiting Disney World quite often. We went every other summer for about 10-12 years. My great grandparents lived in Zephrhills, Florida. We would drive from Texas and stay with them. One day of our trip would be spent at the Magic Kingdom...it was the only park around in the day! In high school and when I first got married went a few times and visited Epcot. My husband had never been to the Magic Kingdom but in the early 90's and in our early 20's we thought Epcot sounded more fun then the Magic Kingdom and NO we weren't on any drugs. Just young and stupid.
Well in '95 our DD comes along and I stay home for 5 years with her and we struggle financially. Last year '06 is really the first year we were able to afford to take her and it was kind of a last minute decision. We went over springbreak and stayed at the All-Star Movies resort. It was the first time that either DH or I had stayed on site. Well needless to say we FEEL IN LOVE and so did DD. She has the opportunity to travel every spring with the Texas Girls' Choir and she said I don't care where short tour is next year I want to go back to Disney World. So being the good mom that I am I immediately booked our return.
So having cracked the books and really paid attention to things going on around us last year here are the plans for this trip. It's me (38), DH (40) and DD (now 11 years old). We arrive late March 8 and leave morning of March 17. We are staying at POFQ and have 7 day park hopper passes. Of course, why do you even need to ask, our ADR's have been done for months and we have a surprise planned for the little one. Here is what we have to look forward to:
Friday, March 9
Dinner: Nine Dragons (don't ask why DD begged to eat here)
Saturday, March 10
Dinner: Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare
HERE IS THE SURPRISE: Saturday evening we have booked a One Hour Magical Cruise w/viewing of Illuminations. DD has no idea we are doing this.
Sunday, March 11
Breakfast: Winnie the Pooh at Crystal Palace
Afternoon: Tea at the Gardenview Lounge (DH says he will have to leave his man-card in Texas because of this)
Dinner: California Grill just in time for fireworks at MK
Monday, March 12
Lunch: Chip & Dale at the Garden Grill (DD VERY EXCITED!)
Tuesday, March 13
Dinner: Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show (Loved this last year)
Evening: Carriage Ride at POR
Wednesday, March 14
Breakfast: Chef Mickey at Contemporary Resort
Thursday, March 15
Dinner: Mama Melrose with Fantasmic Priority Seating
Friday, March 16
Dinner: Dreams Come True Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table
I know it sounds like we have A LOT of character meals planned. But our theory is our DD is still young enough to enjoy them, she wants to do them and we are on the DDP. So we might as well do them while she is young and still enjoying them. She will grow up soon enough.
So there it is the Pretrip report...we leave in 2 days and can't wait for the Magic to begin!
