Does anyone take their clothes in to be pressed? I've just done up a whole bunch of laundry so I really don't want to pay to have it dry cleaned. Tonight was the first time since my surgery that I have attempted to iron my clothes and it hurt SO bad.

Can you take them in to a dry cleaner just to have them pressed? I can't go to work all wrinkled up and I can't take this pain either. Hopefully in a few more days I'll be fine, but for now I just can't do it.

Yes, they can be pressed. Many places offer 1 hour pressing.

I myself iron all my own clothes. Being in the military, it would be quite expensive if I tried to have all my clothes done professionally.

Thanks! I hope it won't get too expensive for me. Maybe I'll just do 3 outfits to get me through the rest of the week. Surely I'll be well enough by next week to move around that little ole iron.

I can imagine how expensive it could get for you. Eek!

Since you are close (sort of) and feel like ironing more clothes feel free to come up here. I've got plenty for ya. :rotfl:

I hate to iron so I usually pop them in the dryer on the "wrinkle" setting and viola...good to go. Of course that doesn't work on really wrinkly clothes or stuff that you want crisp pleats in but it does the job for getting out basic wrinkles.

I really don't have time to iron, so in the morning I spray my clothes with Downy Wrinkle Releaser and toss them in the dryer for a few minutes. They're perfect when they come out, and they have that freshly washed scent too! I love the stuff!

Michelle,

I hope you get to feeling better soon! :flower:

I've taken my clothes to the cleaners to have them pressed. Just a warning...it's almost as expensive as having them dry-cleaned....or at least it is in my town. However, sometimes it's worth it to have someone else do it and it sounds like this would be the case for you at this time.

DH gets his shirts laundered and pressed. I don't do it well enough for him, and for him to do it well enough for himself it takes him at least 20 minutes per shirt!

Anyway, it's about $1 a shirt.

Thanks everyone!

Escape thanks for the well wishes! When I started I really didn't think it would be a problem.

Usually I do the dryer thing on weekends and such but not for work, especially when I have to spend time at the front desk.

Looks like I'll be making a run to the cleaners at lunch tomorrow.

Again, thanks everyone!

Everything that needs to be ironed at my house goes to the laundry. I pay about $1.25 for shirts an $2 for pants/khakis. It's about $20 a week for laundering/dry cleaning my work clothes, and well worth it. ::yes::
