Does anyone know approx. how many pressed penny machines are throughout WDW, and even better is there a directory of their locations? We have about 23 different from our trip last year, and the girls love them, and want more this year..

Thanks!!!

And just in case you leave your list at home, they have some at the Info/Customer Service desk at the parks that you can ask for.

Huh, I didn't know a list existed. We did pressed pennies last time we were at WDW but we missed alot of machines that are tucked into odd corners and whatnot.

This year I'm getting some new, shiny pennies from the bank before I go.

Thanks Robo!

Thank you for the list. The kids are excited to try and collect as many as possible.:)

Same here... I suggested to get a book to collect and keep them in. I'll have to look for one.

That's a good idea. Alot of the pennies we had last year are old and yucky looking. It'd be nice to use just new shiny pennies for this collection.

Disney sells a plastic book just for this purpose. It is mostly penny spots, be there are a few larger spots for the other presses. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Do you know where to buy one? Should I just wait for our next visit or should I buy it beforehand?

As part of our countdown to our trip, I made a calendar and on each day I write something fun for my daughter to do - recall a favorite Diz memory, watch a Diz film, draw a favorite character. (We got some great ideas for our calendar on this thread from other Dis'ers: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2477367&highlight=countdown+calendars )
On some days I send her on a scavenger hunt which ends in a little "gift" to get her ready. One gift was a little Minnie backpack filled with all the toiletries she needs, another will be a larger Mickey backpack with everything she will need on the plane. But one of my favorites was a gift bag that contained a plastic gum container filled with shiny pennies and quarters, along with the list of pressed penny machines posted above. We're having fun looking through the pennies she's collected on previous trips, checking them off on the list and finding which pennies she wants to collect on this trip. We're both looking forward to getting off the beaten track, spending some time finding the machines and collecting the pennies to put in her book!

Even if you think you got all of them at a certain machine or in a particular park, it is always wise to recheck the list. Hubby had finished all in Magic Kingdom and Epcot in June. The next time we visited in (about 4 months later) several of the dies were changed (adding some new dies or changing characters)and a couple of new machines were added. We just went through the checklist dated Nov. and found several changes from our Oct trip. He now has updated his list of ones to get for our Feb. trip - he has about 10 new ones and a couple where the machines were broken.
There are also machines at the resorts - just a few more of those to get.

Most of the standard gift shops in the parks & at DTD have the pressed coin books. There are 3 designs that I've seen - 1) red, 4-parks design, 2) green, fairies design, 3) purple, princesses design.

Hmm thanks! I wonder which one they'll choose... I'm going to guess 2) green fairies! The good thing about having 4 girls is that they can all agree with one and then share the collection. They all love getting the pennies and picking different ones.

How much does it cost to do a pressed coin?

At Disney, the pressed penny machines cost 51 cents (50 cents plust the penny to press). The pressed quarter machines cost $1.25 ($1 in quarters plus the quarter to press). Not sure about the cost of the one dime machine in Magic Kingdom at Space Mountain.
- Just as a side note - Universal's pressed penny machines are the same price.

Here is another site you can visit that shows the pressed penny machines on a map and what they are. I don't know how updated it is or if different designs have been added but most of the locations are accurate from the ones I have visited.

Dime is 85 cents (75 cents plus the dime).
