Okay here goes. I am only posting this because I felt lost when planning this time since I knew it was going to be crowded and I have never been to the park during a peak season. So this is for everyone who is down right scared to tour during this time. :rotfl2:

I arrived early on the 15th. Plane filled (from Detroit), tons of Daytona 500 people and kids on winter break. Please note that the Daytona people stay here because they can get a room! Everything romotely close to the race is sold out years a head of time! Once I arrived, I did the whole ME thing (see post on transportation board). I checked into a relativley quiet All Star Sport. Asked for connecting rooms, had to wait until after 3 pm. No problem. I jumped on the bus to MK, Downtown Dis., then to AK to ride EE, all before my family arrived from Cleveland! Crowds were not bad at all. But remember this is the Wed. before Pres. week, Monday being the day off. My room wasn't ready until 4 p.m. so here's me carrying my carry on with me to the parks...I had valuables in it so I didn't want to leave it with the bell hop.

EE only had about a five minute wait! I did enter when they were preparing for EMH (evening and right after the parade so it felt like salmon up stream). Otherwise I met the rest of my family at the bus stop at about 6:30pm, we took off for ESPN. Note we had 6 people all together and no easy way to get to Boardwalk so we had to call a van cab...took about 45 min. paid about $14.

Please also note if you are going to go to ESPN to eat, call ahead and find out if there is a show going on, because people won't leave until the show is over. So we waited in line with three families in front of us for about 30 min. The show ended and we were seated right away.

The next morning we took the bus to Epcot we arrived one hour prior to opening and did all the proper rope lines. We moved immedately to Soarin, rode and got fp, went to Mission and TT, still crowds were managable but slightly more heavy than I was used to. By 2:30pm I insisted that we all head back to the hotel for rest. By this time Soarin was on a 90 min wait and TT had 70 min wait. The kids wanted to spend time at the hotel and wanted to eat in the food court for dinner, so we canceled our ressies for 9 Dragons. We made our way back at about 6:30p.m. for Illuminations. The family wanted to tour so I grabbed seats at about 8:00 p.m. for Illuminations. Had wine and a crape :Pinkbounc Lovely evening crowds still a bit heavy. Left Illuminations and took a cab from Yacht back to hotel.

Friday, Magic Kingdom...there was nothing I could do...all that UG and TGM planning. We got there an hour ahead of opening and moved to all rope lines...my youngest nephew wanted to ride Dumbo so off we went to Dumbo road second round then moved quickly to Space Mountain....wait time...20 min! grabbed FP and walked onto Buzz, back tracked through fantasy land, Pooh, walk on, Snow White walk on but got stuck!!!!, they held us for about 20 min then released us...uhhh even further behind. Peter Pan, 10 min wait. Then move to Splash Mountain about 10 min then to Big Thunder...5 min.
Grabed FP for Jungle, then onto Haunted. Rode Space Mountain FP, then had lunch and noodle place...horrible by the way! Rode Jungle, C of Prog.and did some other things...can't remember, then headed back to hotel. It was HOT and VERY CROWDED. Just moving through all the people took effort.

Friday night we were supposed to eat at Ohana's when my other brother called and wanted to meet for dinner so we all wasted tons of time at Joes Crab Shack eating dinner (about 4 hours), missed Wishes and Spectro.

Saturday morning we went to AK, and didn't realize it opened at 8 am! Got there at 8:15 :scared: went right to EE and rode, walk on. FP and moved on to dino roller coaster (walk on) then Dinasour (5 min wait), Safari ( 5 min) then Tough to be a Bug, Bird Show. Lunch, by this time the park was packed!!! Couldn't move. Rode EE on FP and thought about raft ride...60 min wait! We look around at animals and took the trails, and train then left the park.

Saturday night, dinner at Wispering Canyon. Kids (9 and 7) had a blast!!! Well worth it for kids. Went back and to sleep.

Sunday MGM, we were agian the first to enter and rode TofT twice in a row, little to no wait, went over to RnR and they had a 40 min wait by 9:30 am!! Grabbed Fp, did Great Movie ride, Star tours (10 min) then
WWTBAM...looked for places to eat...no ADR no dice! Ate counter service for lunch. Rode Star Tours again, Muppets, did Stunt Show, WWTBAM (again), Sounds Dangerous, then Beauty and Beast. Dinner at Prime Time. Had 5:15 adr got seated at 6 pm. We split up after dinner and rode RNR on FP (had 10 min wait with FP!!!) and TofT on FP.
***by 4:30 pm. RNR was on a 100 min wait and all FP were sold out for the day!!! Did Fantasmic for second show.

General impression: Even if you use fp to limit line wait...it still takes you forever to move through the park with all these people!! Wall to wall people, lines for bathrooms, food and people not knowing where they are going.

We still had a great time, but traveling in off season is so much more relaxing. Becuase we were there at Peak Season we had NO flexability in our schedule except to cancel things. You couldn't change your mind on where to eat cause there was no open seating. You couldn't decide at the last minute to see a show cause it was already filled if you weren't there a half hour before it started.

We survived, but if you go this time of year make sure you have a plan!!!!

Thanks for this! I'm going to be there during part of the Spring Break time and (only going once before during February when I was 7) I had no idea what to expect as far as crowds go. Thanks again!

:figment:

EjandMD, we were inEPCOT on Thursday, MK on Friday, and MGM on Sunday, too!! Early am friday was fine, but by mid afternoon it was crazy. We have been there in July, Aug. Nov. Dec, and Jan, and I think this was # 2 as far as crowds. July was the worst. MGM was loaded too!!

Maybe we bumped into each other!!

Thank you for the very detailed report, and the advice on touring during the more busy times of the year! It's super helpful.

Princessmom, I'm sure we did run into each other I was the one with the snarl on my face! :rotfl2:

And to everyone else, it is super important for all of us to pass on this info cause we have to know how much to plan and what to expect.

Good luck to all those of you traveling in the peak season.

Hi-we actually arrived at All Star Movie on Sunday-before pres. week. and left Disney on Wed. Mon and Tue were great-there were little to no lines. By Wed there was a crowd and lines everywhere. We have gone during April break in the past and waited up to 3 hours for Splash Mountain-this trip we got on 2 times in a row with no waiting. :cool1: The kids even got on Space Mountain 4 times. We did travel with 2 toddlers so waiting in line wouldn't have been fun.
Glad you had fun!
Tracy
