I thought I have read posts in the past stating many people going to WDW during President's week. However, when reading recent posts concerning Spring Break, I started thinking Do those of you who get "Spring Breaks" also get Presidents week off from schools? My son is in a Catholic school on LI NY and he gets a week in February, the Thursday and Friday preceeding Easter and the week after Easter. We are thinking of going President's week 2006, and just wondering if it is as crowded as I aways thought it would be. Thanks, as always, any input is so appreciated. You are the best. :sunny:

We've been during both weeks and found both to be very managable. (Many schools here in Minnesota have President's week off and many others rotate between one of the Easter weeks and President's week).

We do not set foot in the MK on the Saturday, Sunday or Monday of the holiday weekend. MY SIL was most impressed with my planning when she ran into a friend on evening at JellyRolls who described the MK as "stroller gridlock" on one of those days (forgot which). The friend said it was so bad it took them nearly 2 hours just to make their way out of the park after only a couple of hours there. She was shocked that we weren't encountering anything similar (but we were either in EPCOT, MGM or AK).
Anyway, we saved the MK for some of the other days of President's week and had no problem seeing and doing what we planned.

It will be crowded, but if you are smart about your touring plan, you won't find it unbearable at all.

Best wishes -

We will be going to WDW on that Sunday 20th thru the 25th. We plan to be at Epcot on Monday instead of MK where most holiday weekend vacationers will be before heading home. We also questioned about the rest of the week and crowds. But we have been there in early June with heat and crowds and that was awful! I do not mind the crowds but the heat makes it unbearable.
You can see on the monthly hours that MK is open later on Sun- Mon than the rest of the week. It will be busy!
Freezing here in the south today.... :cold:

I was there President's day last year and MK was the busiest I have EVER seen it. :crowded:

It was a beautiful day and I think because everyone is off, lots of locals were there as well.

Also, we get that week out of school this year and also have a "spring break" the first week in April. (Fayette Co, GA)

Here in Upstate NY, we have President's week off. Our Catholic schools (where I teach and DS attends) have Thurs., Fri., and Mon. off for Easter. I believe the public schools have Fri. only off at Easter. Spring break is the third week of April.

Thank you for posting your experiences on President's Day. We will be arriving on Sunday of that week. I guess we'll avoid MK that day!

Here in Michigan we all get the whole week off after Easter this year. Many of us have a fixed week, and Easter landed there this year. For the rest of the state they have a floating Easter week. We only have Friday-Monday off for President's Week. No one in Mi lives further than 6 miles from the water, and summer is the best time of year here, so we will gladly give up President's week in favor of spending time outside in that beautiful June weather!

Thanks for the input. Anyone else not get off for President's week?

For those of you going this Feb., I hope you have great trips. Enjoy!

Another upstate NYer with Pres. Week and usually the 3rd week of April.

We will be there this year and hope it's not too bad. Planning MK on Thurs and Friday before Pres. weekend. AK on Sat. Morning. Then just Spectro and Fantasmic on Sunday and Monday.

I think I would avoid MK for that day, but we had a great time over that weekend at other parks, etc (stayed through Wed beyond the holiday last year). I would NEVER say don't go. Just go with the right attitude! Use Fast Pass and all the other tips you can gleen from here.

Whatever the crowds, it beats the heat of :wizard: July for sure.

President's Day is very crowded, but we cannot avoid MK that day because it is my daughter's birthday and that is where she wants to spend it. We will just go back to MK on another day later in the week when (hopefully) the crowds will diminish. On the whole, we have always found President's Week to be crowded but manageable.

I am a Catholic school teacher on LI and DH & I are going for the first time during President's week (M-F). We plan on avoiding MK on Monday as I hear this is where the bulk of the crowds will be.

We have gone Holy Thurs. through the Wed. after Easter and found the parks all but empty until Easter Morning. Then there were huge crowds. So if we plan on going again at that time, we'll again go on Holy Thurs. and get the majority of what we want to do out of the way before Sun. and then just coast for the rest of our stay. The weather was perfect at that time of year (early Apr) and I would definitely do it again. Just start the vacation a little earlier than Easter Sunday.

President's Week is one of the most crowded weeks at WDW. Everyone seems to have it off, plus you have people just wanting to get out of the cold. There also are those that go to Daytona 500 and WDW that same week. the whole area is near capacity during this week. I went to WDW during President's week every year for years, it is crowded.
