President's Day Week or Not?

Thoughts and suggestions please:

I have 5 days/4 nights booked at the end of P-Day week at the Boardwalk, but am worried about the crowds. It would be cost prohibitive to change to the following week (due to an the change costs for airfare) unless I "downgrade" to one of the Moderate Resorts. ( I could even add another night at CBR and still end up saving a little money.)

Buy I love the proximity to EPCOT at BWI. Stayed there twice before and then after staying at ASM I vowed that I would never stay anywhere else except the BWI.

This is my girlfriend's 1st trip since 1978, so she's essentially never been. She's a little skeptical as to how much she'll enjoy this trip, and I'm worried that the crowds P-Day week might ruin th etrip for her.

SO: Boardwalk during P-Day week or Carribean Beach (or a different Moderate) the week after?

Why is your girlfriend skeptical that she will enjoy the trip, to begin with? Is it the fear of the crowds that is bothering her, or something else? Would the difference between a Deluxe hotel and a Moderate hotel bother her?
President's Week will be crowded. Many schools have that week as vacation and families head to WDW.
You can always maximize your trip by knowing it will be crowded and planning for the crowds. Be at the parks at Rope Drop and plan on taking a mid day break back at your resort when the parks are most crowded. Head back out in the evenings.
The week after will be less crowded.
If you decide to do that, my favorite Moderate Resort is POFQ. I FAR prefer it over CBR. It is small and everything is near by. I love the theming and the boat to DTD. You can also use the pool and facilities at POR.
Personally, I think I would go the week after and stay an extra night at POFQ
