Presidents Day Crowds???

Can anyone help and give me an idea of the crowd level for Presidents Day weekend. We normally visit August but are thinking of coming over whilst this holiday is happening. Are the crowds higher just over the extended weekend or do they last the whole week??

President's Day also coincides with a Winter School vacation for some of the North Eastern states (we're in Massachusetts, and it's our school vacation). The crowds leading into the long weekend will start to ramp up beginning Thursday and Friday, it will be pretty darn crowded over the actual weekend, and on the Monday. Those crowds will start to taper off Tues/Weds, and by the end of the week, it's fairly quiet again. Relatively speaking of course, it is WDW after all.

This was our experience last year (2006). Hope it helps. We arrived at WDW on Tuesday night before President's Day. Very low crowds Weds and Thurs. Friday was a little crowded, Saturday was VERY crowded, as was Sunday. We left Monday morning, drove south to Ft Myers, and spent 6 days there.

PS--DS's name is Ian as well. Not very common here for his age group, he's only 9 now, and the only one in his school.

Thanks for info...some people have said this week is now one of the most crowded of the year and can last all week (although we are used to the August crowds so maybe little different!!)

Ian is a scottish name, although I'm not scottish. Glad our american cousins are starting to adopt good old anglo-saxon names

Hi I would like to jump in here.. as we just got back from spending a week in Disney over this holiday....
ITS INSANE!!!!!! CRAZY CROWDS... there was even a night that we could not have dinner cause there were no reservations left anywhere!

A cast member told us that it was not just becuase of PD. but like the other poster said it is a holiday WEEK for some states, it was also Daytona 500 time, Marti Gras, and spring break for some collages and universities.

Although Disney is great whenever you can get there.. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE I will ALWAYS avoid this week in the future.

I second the OP, it was NUTS!! I've been there twice before in Feb, and I'll NEVER go there again that week. We're used to going in and out of the parks with virtually no waits, the waits were in excess of 2 hours. The CM's said it had a lot to do with Daytona 500 too. The Dad's go there and the Moms and kids go to Disney. Avoid it if at all possible! My advice to you, the first 2 weeks of Feb are awesome.

Thanks for all the great advice....the thought of those massive waits has made me decide to change dates so we're going on 14th October this year instead

I absolutely agree with the previous posters. It was packed! Fortunately, we got there early (as the park opened) and got on all the big rides before 11:00. We went back to Space Mountain at 1:30 and the Fast Pass Return time was between 6 and 7!!! It was crazy! We were spoiled last September with low crowds!

We were there also. 2/15 & 2/15 at Universal and 2/16-2/21 at WDW. It was the most crowded when we had ever been. We knew it would be so we spent ALOT of time planning before with TGM and RIDEMAX. We were able to do it all by arriving before opening and using fastpasses wisely. We had no problems and got alot done in the first 2 hrs. Not my favorite time to go due to crowds but there was no rain and I was cool!

We went to EPCOT 02/19, knowing it would be crowded. But I did not realize how crowded. I have never seen that many people in EPCOT before and we have been twice during Christmas week. We went with a plan and it worked for us. Soaring FP first, then TT FP, then Norway FP. TT FastPass ran out at 1:30pm. Even the fast food restaurants were crowded.
