I don't think any of us can say what's biased and what's not. We all support one candidate or the other, of course we're going to say XYZ is biased against the opponent.

My thoughts exactly. McCain made a bad choice on his VP, and I think that's really hurting him. Not that I mind, because I'm all for Obama.

But Obama made the right choice on his VP. People were criticizing his experience, and so he found an "experienced" politician to be his running mate. That was intelligent. I think McCain just wanted to get the "female vote" so he picked Palin, who he thought would bring all the Clinton supporters over to him. It may have worked for a little bit, but then when everyone started realized that Palin has no experience and no expertise in politics, they all laughed. Seriously, I think McCain looks like the biggest fool right now.

Vice President is just as important. If anything happened to the president or he couldnt appear, the VP takes over.

Sarah Palin was the worst thing McCain did. I think it will cost him the spot of becoming POTUS. IMO.

Um, except when electing a leader you ALWAYS have to look at back up. I don't know why you wouldn't to, you know, be prepared for the worst. I mean presidents have died in office before, what makes this term ANY different? Not a damn thing.

To me, people that don't look at the VP are just making stupid uneducated votes and probably shouldn't be voting any how.

McCain is old. So what if he dies in office? Do you want Palin leading our country?
Obama already had an assassination attempt on him, and he's not even the president. If he's elected, he will also be the first African-American president. That's very controversial and there are a lot of people out there who are extremely racist. So he could get assassinated. Do you want Biden leading our country?

You can't base a decision just on the fact that one person is leading the country. Because that person is mortal, therefore he can die. You have to think and be prepared for that kind of awful event.

Also, the president CAN be influenced by his cabinet and their opinions. So whoever he picks as the VP can possibly have a big influence on the president's decisions on laws, war, etc.

This IS a real issue. McCain is not immortal, he can die at any second. Just like you and I. He's elderly, which makes it even more high risk. We're not being rude, we're being realists.

I'd take you as a person who can see that not everybody in this country agrees. I'd take you as a person wise enough to realize that some people can't tolerate differences. I'd take you as a person who could see that yes, McCain is old. Not terribly so. And he's semi-healthy. But there's that what-if. What if he does catch, say, pneumonia and die because his body is older? What if his heart does fail without warning? Sarah Palin isn't who I want as my VP if that does happen. And yes, the fact that he is older (and while he's not super old, he is getting on towards elderly in my opinion), scares me. It increases his risk of dying in-office.

Barack Obama, however, picked VP I can agree with. If he gets shot, if he gets assasinated, heck if he catches pneumonia and dies, at least I'll have a VP I can have faith in. Obama made a good choice with his VP. Biden is experienced (and yes, he does have his moments where I go "OMG...did he just say that?) and he has proven that he can handle the Washington crowd. Sarah Palin has proven nothing to me other than that she is quite possibly very, very, very unethical. If she does the same things in the White House that she did at the State House of Alaska our country is going to be in trouble because her "moral" compass will steer us wrong.

I want to make this clear. I wasn't as ferverently anti-McCain until the VP pick. Until he picked his VP, I thought "OK...this guy's got some decent ideas". It wasn't enough to make me say "OMG! I LOVE MCCAIN! OUR COUNTRY'S SAVIOUR!", but I didn't say "Oh, wow. McCain's dumb." I was pretty neutral. But he made a mistake, IMO in picking Palin.

I wasn't being ganged up on. Even if I was, I'm 20 years old...I'm a big girl, I can take it.

I really do enjoy discussing these things. I never felt anyone getting nasty over anything.

The world would be an incredibly boring place if we all had the same ideas about everything.

I said "vent from school"

i deal with a lot of crap from people at school who dont even talk about real reasons to like a candidate.

When I ask them what they hate so much about McCain they dont know.

My point being,
Im sick of people dissing McCain in ways that arent to his beliefs, yet when it comes to Obama 1. I wouldnt point out the opponents personal flaws, im just not like that 2. Even if i did do that, I would be yelled at by people in my school for being RACIEST.

Its absolutely sickening, the way someone SHOVED in my face how McCain is gonna die the day after he gets elected. The way she shoved it in my face was rude.

If i wanted to there was plenty of things i could say about Obama as to why he could die in office that are just as great of a risk as McCains.
