I love reading about other peoples planning It gets me so excited for my own trip!!!

At the moment we'll both be watching the World of Colour on the same day!! Tuesday the 30th of October! We're doing a DL day (to see the Halloween decorations in their full glory!) but will be watching WOC that night not sure how we're going to run this in terms of grabbing fast passes or not

And then we'll both be in DL on Wednesday the 7th of November!

I'm guessing your flying with VA?? We have the same departure time the Thursday prior to you flying out

Hi everyone...............well, I think there are still a couple of you out there???

Now we all know I do love to take photos. Lots and lots of photos!

So, I have been out today with the new camera and I would like some opinions please from my Dis friends!

I am extremely pleased with the results and if this is what I can expect on a regular basis, I will be thrilled to bits. The camera has sooooooo many cool, things and I have only just scratched the surface!!!

one question - will you be making pre bookings for your disney meals? I think we are going to do the Minnie breakfast too, but just wonder how you go about booking, is it 60 days in advance?

I am still here You have a great DH to present you with an early Christmas/Birthday present. So thoughtful! The pictures are awesome and it's smart of you to take practice pictures and get to know you DSLR. Can't wait for your trip ones.

Earlier in your thread I think you mentioned getting a Disney Photo Pass Plus card...but there were only available ay WDW at the time. The Disneyland Resort now offers it, if you haven't pre-purchased it already, here is the link:

It's a great deal especially since you are doing the character meals and they include the print packages with them

Velvetia - Thanks for the kind words re the photos and I am glad you liked them! I do feel very lucky to have such a wonderful hubby

I will be booking at least 3 character meals and I am happy to say that I don't hve to get up at 4am any more as there is now an email option!!! You just have to let them know the details - how many guests, which restaurant, time etc and you can let them know up to 60 days in advance.

KiwiMouseGirl - Hi Cassandra Thanks for the compliment and I am hoping to get some wonderful pics! I have a list of things I want to do with the camera and I am hoping to get some amazing shots of the castle............ah, I can't wait to see it again

I have been to check it out already and I will definitely be getting one of those It is such a good way to save and especially on the meal character photo's as last time we spent a small fortune on those!

I am so glad hubby decided to get me the camera so I could practice and I am going out every weekend hopefully before we go so I can practice on different things. I can't wait to get some night shots and am looking forward to sunrise and sunset pics too!

Update time.......

A few things have changed since I last checked in! The original itinerary saw us going to Knotts berry farm on the 29th of October for the day.
Well, I have found something much more exciting to do than that AND it is Disney related ( my favourite kind of thing to do!!! )
There just happens to be a little place around 2 hours from Anaheim called Simi Valley. This town is home to The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum.............and what does that have to do with Disney....... well I am glad you asked
It just happens to be hosting the "Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives" exhibition. This exhibit showcases more than 500 Disney artifacts and has lots that have never been seen by the public before! It is a huge dispaly at over 12,000 feet and even has props from Disney movies like Mary Poppins and Pirates. When I first found out about it, I was sure it would either start after we had left or it would have finished before we got there. But guess what.........it will be on while we are there
I was just so excited.

I have researched on how to get us there and we will be catching the Amtrak train from Anaheim directly into Simi Valley. The journey itself is around 2 hours and will be a great way to see some of California that we have not seen before. I will be booking us a business class seats and the train even has a buffet car!
When I first mentioned this to the DD, I thought she may be a little upset missing Knotts, but, as it turns out, she would rather go to the Disney exhibit.........she really melts my heart some times


I have ordered our Photpass+ and that should be arriving in the next 2 weeks or so as they have already sent me an email to say it has been shipped! Gotta love Disney for coming up with this idea and I am sure to save loads as we are doing at least 3 character meals and the photos to buy at these are around $30.00 each and I bought every single one last time!!!
It also has your ride photos and DD had only just mentioned the other day how she wanted to buy the "actual" ride phot from Splash this time round! Now we will more than likely get a few. And I did notice that Radiator Springs Racers must have a ride pic option as it was on the attractions list!

I will be purchasing our Halloween party tickets this week.

And, after lots of deliberation in regards to our accommodatio, we will now be spending our whole 16 nights at the Ho Jo. I really didn't like the idea of staying at the Carousel and now we don't have to move anywhere! I had to pay a change fee, but the travel agent used the credit from the Carousel and as they consider the Ho Jo an upgrade, I had to pay $217.00 all together. I really didn't mind. I was hoping to book the Disneyland Hotel for those 4 nights, but I would rather have the extra spending money. I will get to the Disneyland Hotel one day...............one day

Well, that's about it for this time.

Oh, just one more thing....................

Oooh! That's exciting! I read about that Disney exhibition and thought it sounded AWESOME! And it will be nice to see a different side of California too.

And I think you'll be better off staying in the one place for your whole trip too. We had to change hotels when we went. Wasn't too bad coz it was only the second day and we weren't planning to go into the parks that morning anyway. But I can imagine if we were a few days in it would have really messed with our routine.

Guess what???

I bought our Halloween party tickets today.......................so excited!!! Halloween night it is!!!

Look out Disneyland, here come the first time Aussie trick or treaters! I do hope we get more treats than tricks!!!

I am in the process tonight of organising our ART passes. After doing some checking and chatting, we have decided will still be visiting Knotts and going to the Disney exhibition too. I had to rearrange the itinerary slightly, but it still works well. I really want to check out Mr Knotts famous fried chicken and they have the biggest range of Jim Shore Disney collecatbles I have ever seen in the one place. ( if unsure what these look like, feel free to ask I shalle provide pictures!!! )
So, I can get us a 5 day ART shuttle passes and to make the most of it, we will be catching it to Main Place in Santa Ana, the train station at Anaheim the day we go to the exhibition, and also to Knotts. I just realised thet we can use it to get to the Pirates dinner too, sweet!

I really am just too excited........did I say that alreday!

More soon as I will be updating often now we are getting closer!

Sorry I am a bit late, but thank you so much for the tip on the Photopass. I am very happy to say I ordered one and it arrived yesterday
And I am most glad you enjoyed the photo's and I can't wait to get it to use it at DL..........hoping most for some amazing castle pics as I have an idea for a framed version with multiple angles etc that I can look at every day!
