I know last year if you sat through the sales pitch, you received a special fast pass ticket or something similar. Does anyone know if they are still giving away items like that, and what are they?

Ice Cream cone and maybe a fast pass if both adults are present. (Better chance if you leave a deposit).

Unless you want to come right out and say "what are you going to give me", you might not get anything.

The ice cream and instant Fastpasses are the most frequently used incentives. Sometimes they will offer small gift cards or vouchers for free meals. These better incentives are most easily obtained if you are willing to tour on the spur of the moment or during peak theme park hours when they have trouble generating foot traffic.

If you would be taking the tour for the purposes of finding out more about DVC then I'd say it's worth it regardless of what you may get on the back end.

But if you're just in it for the freebies, you better ask up front or wait for something to be offered before agreeing to the tour. Otherwise you may have nothing to show for it in the end.

I was there last week and went to the sales pitch at the Bay Lake tower.

They gave us a $100 gift card to spend while we are there.

I know when Kidani was opening, you got a wire basket like the ones on the walls but it was only for a limited # of days/stock on hand and only if you bought over a certain # of points but it was on top of the other incentives.

We got ice cream, a family picture (5x7 I think) and the $100 gift card.

We bought in a few months ago and we went to the Downtown Disney location they took us over in the golf cart and offered us a $30 gift card

Okay I am being selfish in a way... I already own DVC. But we will be getting to Orlando mid day.. wife and friends are taking kids to pool.

So I was thinking if my buddy and me... went over and listened to the pitch would they throw in anything. Even when I said that I would think about adding on more. Basically if I waste an hour or so.. can I get something.

Current members are welcome to do a self-guided tour of the model units at SSR (includes BLT and AKV models) from 5-7pm daily and at the Bay Lake Tower from 2-4pm daily.

DVC typically is not accommodating of current members who want to do a formal tour. I believe the thinking is that you already know about the DVC product and you already have an assigned Guide so there is no reason to divert personnel from attracting potential new business.

If you try to schedule something in advance with your Guide, he/she will probably steer you toward the above open touring hours. If you simply drop in at the sales center and ask to see the models, they may be able to accommodate. But I wouldn't count on getting any perks for stopping in. The DVC sales unit actually has to pay for Fast Pass cards they distribute as incentives so even those are closely guarded.

To be painfully blunt, DVC can't justify giving some financial reward to every current member who stops by the sales center to kill an hour. If you really want to tour the units in anticipation of adding-on, they will certainly work with you. But don't bet on any other "thank you" gifts.

That said, if your buddy is not a member and is willing to sit through the entire tour, there may be something in it for him. But again you'll either have to wait for something to be offered or ask in advance to guarantee he'll actually get something more substantial than an ice cream cone.
