Hi all, not got long to go now so just a couple of quick questions please! My dd has been prescribed flouxotine and propronalol (due to stress with exams etc) and just wondered if she will be ok taking these with her, I heard once they don't allow paracetomol into the USA??

Also does anybody know where to get the correct size clear bags that you use to put liquids and make up in at security? I have tried 2 diff size clear food bags but they always have a moan, not tight but I begrudge paying what they charge lol!

It's perfectly fine to take prescribed drugs into USA and if they are in pill form you'll have no probs..never heard that paracetomal wasn't allowed. Injected drugs ie insulin has a few quide lines but again its ok.
The bags (free at Gatwick) are normal size small food bags..

have you seen these before..I know you have to pay but they look like they will last

take a look at the gov guide lines that explains what you can take in the form of liquid medicine and also that the size of the plastic bag should be no bigger then 20cm x 20cms.

Keep the tablets in the box with the label from the chemist on it. that way it has all the details on there of whats been prescribed.

Will do ta, will the medicine be ok in the case then, she only needs that once a day so she can take it in the morning,

When we go to the states my gp will print off an extra perscription list and sign it and stamp it with surgery stamp. I take all my tablets in original boxes in my hand luggage. One time customs decided to do a bag search through our stuff. They were fine with all the medicines but asked what rennie were for - I said because I always over eat with the huge portions;)

Lol, that would be right! :rotfl2:
As mentioned earlier though one of the prescriptions is a medicine so wasn't sure if that could go in the case as it would be to much to put in the hand luggage! :confused3

Put all your meds in your hand luggage. If in the real rare attempt your luggage gets mislaid she with not have her prozak(fluoxitine) to take and it is important she takes them as you know. Like someone suggested get a repeat prescription off the gp keep in your hand luggage as well incase any get mislaid. As she is suffering with panic disorder it will make her 10 times worse if she looses her meds.:thumbsup2
I always take mine on the plane never been questioned. They are ok with liqueds as long as it is prescribed.:thumbsup2

Aww thanks for all your help and advice! Wouldn't have even thought about telling the insurance about it!
