I know there is no meal plan at DL, but I have heard that there are places to purchase some of the buffets ahead of time at a discount. Where would that be please and thank you.

Disneyland does offer dining vouchers. I've read that you can get through Costco, aRes, Get Away Today, and probably other travel agency type sites. I've never bought them, but it seems like they're only a good deal if you plan to go to the most expensive place and meal time that they're valid for.

You don’t get change back from a voucher, so unless you get them included (Costco typically includes vouchers for a character meal), you will come out ahead if you load a gift card and pay for meals with that usually.
